I'm asleep in my bed, which is somehow also in the office of the school I work in. Our secretary comes in looking for paper plates for the lounge, and calls out to Josh* to come help her find them. Josh sees that I'm still in bed and tries to gently get me up. I'm completely covered up, but naked under the blanket, and I'm trying not to let him see any part of me. I turn to one side and my back is exposed, so he puts 3 smiley face stickers on my back. They're red, green, and blue and represent 3 tasks I need to perform to better or nurture myself, and when I complete all 3 tasks he will be there for me. Somehow, completing these tasks is accomplished as I go car shopping and compare two small SUVs - a Subaru Outback and a Chevy/Ford something or other. The Chevy/Ford is the smarter choice for whatever reason, and after looking both cars over and making the smart choice, I've managed to complete the 3 tasks (for example, the green one had to do with which car was safer so I was protecting myself), and I find Josh and he kisses me. But it's not romantic, it feels like a chore he has to complete.

So I guess it's something like...a guy found a vulnerability and I hoped it meant he would take care of me. But instead he makes me take care of myself, and then when I do he doesn't really want me anymore?

I know that I'm not vulnerable, that I've worked really hard on being so independent, because I had to be for so long. But I don't have the practice of letting someone in, and I've put up so many walls I'm not even sure if I have a door anymore. Not that there's anyone outside knocking.

*Josh is a guy I know but I don't know him that well. But he had been the topic of a conversation with a friend the night before, so he was on my mind.

Took a dive into all my likes for a Reblogging Spree. A few observations:

*It's like a time-capsule. The start of corona, the 2020 and 2016 elections, they all feel eons away. I haven't even gotten back to the Obama years left, still a long way to go.

*I'm in a better place, mental health-wise (shocking, after all the stuff I just mentioned above). I was able to look at a lot of depression/anxiety/therapy things I'd saved and say, "I don't need this tone to speak for me right now."

*It is VERY clear that the main method, location, and time I am on Tumblr is on my phone in bed trying to fall asleep. How is this clear? Because I found SO. MANY. things in my likes that I could not possibly have liked on purpose because I have no idea what they mean. Sleepy fingers accidentally double-tapping those posts

Well my memory isn’t great so take this with a grain of salt, but from what I recall it went something like this:

In a later season of Voyager a character named Seven of Nine joined the crew. Because of filming, her actress had to spend long periods of time away from her husband, who turned out to be a piece of shit because he took the opportunity to cheat on her, thinking he could get away with it while she was gone. Spoiler alert: he was wrong. She found out. The husband was also a senator, and unfortunately for him his infidelity was discovered while he was up for re-election. The scandal blew up, and soon enough the public backlash because bad enough that he dropped out of the running, forcing the Republican Party to replace him with another candidate at the last minute. The replacement had almost no time to try and salvage the situation before voting day, so the election wound up being a landslide victory for the Democrat candidate... who was Barack Obama. That’s how Obama first became a Senator, which led to him becoming the Democrat nominee for the 2008 presidential elections, which he obviously won.

So Star Trek Voyager caused a Senator to cheat on his wife, causing a scandal bad enough to end his career during an election, and the last minute scramble all but handed Obama his first Senate election, which set him up to run for President.

And actually if you think about it Biden’s time as Obama’s VP probably helped secure the 2020 election for him, so you can stretch it and say Voyager is responsible for two presidents now.
