the first time you kiss umemiya's scars, he's left stunned.

you're sitting on the couch with him, legs dropped above his while you both watch a movie. it took you a while to notice this one bruise under his jaw, but when you lean on his shoulder that night and he immediately winces, you make sure to leave a small peck above the red area before whispering softly “sorry.”

he would move on from it by gently pulling you and teasing you if you had stopped there, but there was a different weight to tonight, so you find it easy to lean down and kiss it again. “I didn't know you got into a fight recently,” you whisper, inspecting him now when you straddle his lap, the light of the television aiding your vision to better adjust to the darkness of the room and give you a better view of the marks all over his body.

they are almost healed, but that doesn't stop you from leaning down and kissing the slightly bigger injury on his shoulder, the smaller cut on the opposite side of his temple, and finally, your hands stop above his lips and the almost imperceptible bruise there.

there's a haze to his gaze when you find it. his lips are partially open as he looks at you as if you have just offered food to a man starved, unable to do anything else until you give him a taste again, as a small peck over that last bruise; and then he snaps. his calloused hands find you, pulling you closer until he can hold you down against the couch's arm and his lips find you without any restraint. 

his kisses make a familiar path all over your neck, but it takes you a long time to realize that he's doing the same thing you did to him a few seconds ago — except those your marks were ones his lips so gently left a few days ago.

most of them healed; an excuse for him to give you new ones.

about endo never truly learning the idea of being lowkey about anything. about him being intense in every aspect of his life, about loving and being infatuated so deeply by everything he even dares to care about.

about how being in a secret relationship would hold him back so much. and he'd be pissed about it but he would understand it so well because he doesn't want to give up on fighting and also he doesn't want to give up on you. so it's whatever, he will try it. for the sake of having fun without hurting what you have, he will try it.

I wrote that part specifically by the idea of his s/o being aware of who the relationship is with. you gotta know that he adores the ground you walk, that he's obsessed with being around you, just like he's with other things, and that just means he loves you. its kinda fucked up. but when he says those stuff you can only hear "I love you" and honestly, takes a while to get used to it, but what else can you ask?

it's about the idea of helping him through it too, you know? constant reminder that when the infatuation is gone, there's still love. when the fights aren't fun or when shit happens, things get messy, there's still your love. :)

how you hear his laugh before you can even properly wake up, a chuckle against your neck as he whispers "good morning," and nuzzle against your skin.

how you see it flash towards you whenever you walk into a room, so easy to find and so easily finding you.

how it feels underneath your thumb when you cup his face, fingertips contouring his lips, and gets excited every time your gentle touch finds him.

how your kisses are full of teeth clashing and his breathing over your skin because he just cannot help but grin against your lips. and you swear he tastes different, that his breath is warmer, whenever he's smiling like that — he just laughs when you mention it, because of course he would. it's so endearing to him how much you pay attention to him.

you wonder if there's anyone who would not pay attention to those things. who would not be so overwhelmed by his love.
