The Life of a Grad Student

I started out as an art major in undergrad, and by the time I was done I had graduated with a degree in chemistry and a minor in political science. Since then I've moved onto grad school where I am working on my Ph.D., by playing with lasers all day.

Since I became Dr. Unpossible

I have been mistaken once as a Walmart employee and once as a Target employee.

The first time this happened was at Walmart no more than two hours after I had defended.  I had on black dress slacks and a blue dress shirt and apparently that screams Walmart employee.  To top it off I was still very much intoxicated from the bottle of champagne that I had just drank.

The most recent time ( about 6 hours ago) at Target I was just picking up things for my new apartment and an old lady starts asking me about vacuum cleaner filters. I was so confused and told I don’t have a clue where the filters would be.  Then her husband goes, “you don’t work here do you?”

So to sum things up I look like I work in retail. Who knew?

Hey, I've been following you for a long time and I was just curious as to if you ever got your PhD...

So the short answer is, yup and I’m about to start a post doc position.  The long story about finishing up and finding a position is way way too long for tumblr, but maybe at some point I will throw up bits and pieces of it.
