Hearing him laugh was a lot more relaxing than he would initially think. Back then– when an enemy laughed, it was not a good sign. However, the reason for it; confidence, would be the same. Despite his former rank, Starrk wouldn’t be the first among his comrades to draw a weapon. For centuries, he didn’t need to. Call it force of habit, or whatever, realistically, he preferred to conserve his energy for when it was absolutely required. “I think you hit the nail right on the head.” Another quiet chuckle followed. Though his demeanor shifted to a more serious one– which wasn’t far off from the face he normally presented. “I’ve only heard tidbits here and there of what he had done to you guys.” His grey gaze drifted to the ground for a moment, maybe to hide the growing smirk. “I’m sure he would l o v e to know about this– well it feels like an alliance to me but, I wasn’t really one for politics.”
Who knew the espada was the owner of quite the healthy sense of humor, granted it wasn’t one that seemed to be as well rounded as the Sou-taichou’s, it really was another side to the man and the added dimension made him appear that much less uptight or was it unaffected, sometimes it was difficult to discern any difference, even for Shunsui who was a master at reading others. It was Starrk’s listlessness for life that managed to throw off the read but at least now, they were holding some common ground. Similar to former friends seeking some way to connect to each other once more. Similar but surely not equal to it and it wasn’t a comparison he was about to imply out loud, not for now, anyway.
“Word sure does get around, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not as though it’s anything that should remain locked away. Some truths should surface and be used to spread awareness when possible. It’s true, the man known as Sosuke Aizen violated the Seireitei, it’s inhabitants and those within the ranks of the Gotai 13, he also committed heinous crimes against the World of the living in which us shinigami are sworn to protect. It’s not something that was taken lightly once it all came to light~ As you could imagine.” A slight tip of his straw hat is made, followed by a low chuckle.
“Something tells me, he could very well likely sense it as it is. He always did have a knack for connecting the dots. As for politics, believe me, I’m the last guy who wanted anything to do with the subject, but here I am, right in the middle of it all. At the very least we could say we are both unlikely candidates, hm?”
