It would be genuinely amazing if something as complicated as gender could undergo a complete neurological reversal during development and come out the other side as a trans-something. If I identify as a woman, and a woman is one of the whatevers someone can identify as, then I have said nothing. "Woman" has to have some positive content to be meaningful. In biology, female is that which is ordered to the production of ova. It is that which lacks a Y chromosome or at least that sine qua non part which codes for sperm production. Without the positive content, nobody can say what it is they are identifying as. And why do they do it anyway? Because of gender dysphoria. They feel like somehow their biological sex doesn't match their gender, even though they cannot give a full account of what it is to be male or female. This strikes me as similar to having a phantom limb. The limb feels like it should be there but isn't. Something has gone wrong in processing. And which is more likely? That a global gender inversion occurred in the brain and a male body produced a female brain or that some part of the biological constructs that yield gender were miswired in some way? Looking like a thing and acting (in part) like a thing does not make something that thing. Gender, in short, is not "performative" or a "social construct" or any other feminist or Continental nonsense. It is essential to the thing. Transwomen are mentally ill males, and transmen are mentally ill females. Bang them if you want to go gay.
