As promised, vampire (leela)romana
*sitting by Leela’s side, resolutely ignoring the gnawing hunger*
Maybe i Should break some laws of time..
Go and see myself in the future.. go and punch my academy tutor for fun.. something like that..
Can I help?
Oh yes that would be lovely!
Now all i have to do is rig the signature of your universe into this stupid ship- and.. rework a few circuits and then with enough raw power I'm sure...
It shouldn’t be too difficult. This Gallifrey longs to steal in stray travellers.
That definitely doesn't sound ominous in any capaci— -hit.

-last it. Signal went out. I.. believe i may have crossed over a threshold..
You’re coming through clearer. Coordinates?
My ship's systems are not in the best condition, the screen has gone haywire. Are you able to track my transmission?
Tracking you… now. Should we send a rescue?
No I don't think it's that bad- probably. I'm having K-9 check for faults, the engines seem to be mostly intact, so do the oxygen systems, half the control panel is fried though.
Well, we’ll be on Gallifrey whenever you find it
Oh.. hm. May be hard to land on your Gallifrey without clearance.. without a registered vehicle.. and being from an incorrect iteration of it.. dear god the paperwork...
On second thought...
Or, if you’d rather not get involved, there are other options.
Yes i believe I'd rather not go to Gallifrey at the moment.
A wise decision.
There’s always Earth, I believe it’s even intact at the moment.
That there is. K-9 and i will work to repair some of the control panel and then i suppose we can find eachother there... Which place on Earth do you prefer? We could go to Brighton beach.. the sea is cold though.. Cambridge was nice too, or Paris!
Paris? The Doctor meant to bring me to the Louvre, but I’ve never been.
Are you quite sure?? I've been to Paris with the Doctor.. i wore this lovely schoolgirl costume. With sweets shaped pins. Perhaps it's a timeline difference?
It’s quite possible… but it’s odd, I’d thought there weren’t any variations before e-space.
I don't know.. is it possible you've lost some of your memories? I've experienced some odd amnesia recently too. Then again I'm not one to know about these things..
There were… a few incidents, yes. I wouldn’t rule it out.
I'm sure it'll be easier to figure out when we're both in the same place. I'll send a transmission when we arrive on Earth.
I’ll see if I can spare the time away.
Humans…
So fragile, aren’t they?
Leela’s tougher than most.

*watching Leela*
*pale and feverish, struggling to breathe*
*alarmed*
Leela? *puts a hand to her face* Leela, talk to me.
Romana…
Hang in there, we’re getting you help.
*picks her up, and kicks the TARDIS door open*
Medic! She’s been poisoned!
Carmilla?!
Tell me what happened.
She was bitten, or scratched, or something!
*sets her on a bed*
We have the thing that did it, if it helps.
She said her leg was going numb, and then… this!
An alien creature, I assume? How long ago did that happen? And how much time has passed between then and her beginning to show symptoms?
Just over a span. She seemed fine, until I treated it. I gave her an anesthetic, but then the numbness spread, and she felt dizzy… The rest of it happened only a few microspans ago.
Some toxins take a while to spread and take effect. It might not have been noticeable at first and then the anesthetic kept her from noticing early warning signs like increasing pain or numbness until it started spreading. Of course, there's also the small chance that she reacted badly to an anesthetic not primarily designed for humans, but I expect you would have made sure it was suitable for her?
Of course. It’s suitable for a wide range of humanoid species, so unless she’s specifically intolerant of it…
You will be able to fix it?
*nods* I thought so.
And hopefully, yes. Toxicology is my specialty and she is resilient. Still, time is of the essence! You said you have the creature that bit her? That's good, I will need a sample of its venom in order to produce an antidote.
*pulls it from her bag*
Leela ran after it without my knowledge
I'm starting to see why you get along so well...
*puts on her gloves and inspects the creature's mouth, locating the venom glands and taking a swab, grateful they haven't dried up yet*
I'll have to take this to my lab. Meanwhile, the medidais will monitor Leela's heart rate and breathing and is set to automatically compensate for any irregularities and keep her stable. If there are signs she's getting worse, call me immediately.
Is it adjusted for her biology?
I had all my equipment programmed to recognise and adjust to the biology of several alien species the moment your other self first opened up the Academy, just in case.
Good, good.
I’ll watch her.
I will be back with the antitoxin as quickly as possible.
*takes Leela’s hand, silently dismissing Clearan*
