The Truman Show dir. Peter Weir (1998)
War Room I: The First Days of Phaidon animatic!
And it’s finally done! It took me about a month to finish (I think? I started it at some point, then I forgot about it, then remembered again) and for the past couple of weeks this was all I was doing art-wise after work. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!
@fiotrethewey ‘s The First Days of Phaidon is one of my fave audios featuring Leela and Narvin and planning their acting in this scene was very entertaining. It’s so surreal to watch the final result :3
Also I got to test ToonSquid and Procreate Dreams along the way so maybe I can give you some impressions if you’re interested 🤔
I would also appreciate it so much if you take 1,5 minutes of your time and watch it and if you enjoyed it like/comment/share it. The fandom is really small and algorithms hate videos making it REALLY hard to get responses for a pretty exhausting work that goes along with making a big project. Your support means a lot to me and also gives my demotivated brain a carrot to motivate it to do more stuff like this :3
re: the scene in the sea devils where the doctor touches the master's waist. I am now imagining theta manhandling koschei in the lab by holding his waist and pushing/pulling him out of the way
Guy who's seen 1 dw episode: his name is doctor who
Guy who's seen 100 dw episodes: his name is THE DOCTOR not doctor who!!!!!!!!!
Guy who's seen 1000 dw episodes: his name is doctor who

no one knows if watching a new tv show is possible
A trope that gets to me: 'guard dog' character and their partner who are both fully aware of it and honestly don't care/kind of like it. Someone says "call your guard dog off" and their partner does call them off. That person, their 'guard dog', is someone who is unreservedly, irrefutably loyal to them. Someone undoubtedly dangerous who is willing to kill, to maim, to obey, simply because of their love for one another. There's no manipulation involved— it is loyalty, brutal, dogged loyalty. And it goes both ways.
so obsessed with 12 he only interacted with queer women (and nardole) and then regenerated into a queer woman like wth was that

do you ever think about how theyre kind of like orpheus and eurydice
they r matching <3
The Doctor when the shady guy that knows a suspicious amount of secret information that's stalking them and being flirty while also leaving cryptic riddles about world conquest turns out to secretly be the Master
do you ever think about how “awkwardly standing there while another version of herself blatantly flirts with her friend(s)” is something that has happened to romana twice
Going to start Imperatrix now, in which, I assume, Romana makes herself a leopard and thinks “surely I would never eat people's faces”, or something like that.
on a bit of a “let leela be flawed please i’m begging” crusade rn sorry. i mean there’s a lot of nuance but still basically i think every time we get on romana or narvin’s case for political evils we must remember leela is their right hand arm. man. and she does it on purpose
#leela's whole thing right is like #she very much sees herself as like some righteous crusader- just like dr who- and that'a why she's all like #wanting to help the common folk and fight the tyranny of the time lords or whatever #she's always fighting for her noble cause #almost to the point of arrogance (see s5) because She Is Right and all these Time Lords who nevsr accept or want her are proving her point #to her that she is better than them #i think it's why she never fits in with anyone but the doctor because nobody else has that same kind of 'fighing for the underdog while #being part of the aristocracy; which romana is the closest second and that's why leela is attracted to her - in a magnetic way i mean #because leela wants a place to Belong. and i think whether she'll admit it or not; romana represents that to her #idk if that made sense i just woke up but yeh #it's kind of a cynical read but you're right; for all her talk she is complicit a LOT (@sircarolyn)
Romana’s dalek trauma is really something huh
just under 10hrs, and I worked on it for quite a few days bc of uni and daleks being a nightmare to draw
tysm to @chronicshoc for the reference images you’re a starrrrr
romana's backstory for gallifrey is "tortured for twenty years" and then every single character in gallifrey pauses at least once per episode to say "well well well... WHY would ROMANA ban TORTURE? could it perhaps be... because of the mysterious terrible events she went through for twenty years? we will literally never know"
Early Narvin being SO offended that he can’t get information with the MIND PROBE, something daleks are also known to use…..
look at these whiny snowflake """torture victims""" telling us who we can and can't torture
