i’m transmasc and had to get an abortion earlier this year, it was awful to go through. i was in the middle of getting my meds figured out and since i didn’t know i was pregnant i ended up in the beginnings of serotonin syndrome and nearly had to go to the emergency room, alone, without my husband to advocate for me (ended up not going because money and decided it was safer to risk riding the symptoms out at home than risk being a pregnant transmasc alone in the ER).

i also came very close to not being able to get the abortion at all due to the cutoff but thankfully we get very very lucky. the whole event was honestly traumatic and seeing people being so dismissive of pregnancy and all the trauma that comes with gives me such an awful feeling in the pit of my stomach.

thank you for sticking up for us, for always sticking up for us. it’s heartening to see someone other than another transmasc pushing back against this nonsense and it’s nice to know that other people give a shit about us

Some people like to treat pregnancy as some kind of fundamental form of oppression that only people AFAB can experience (with a functional uterus [who aren't infertile for other reasons {maybe there's other issues with using this trait as an oppression metric?}]). But like, unwanted pregnancy is effectively just an STI. It's not fundamentally different than getting HIV/AIDS, both are pretty serious, curable but stigmatized (in different ways), and both can be transmitted via sex/rape. The pregnancy is temporary but can be more dangerous if it fully develops, AIDS is dangerous for the rest of your life if it fully develops. But like, being vulnerable to one more STD is not a fundamental form of oppression that defines a class. It's a medical quirk, and one not shared by all "biological women". And if you want to talk about rape in general, trans women experence a pretty disproportionate degree of it compared to women in general.

Nobody gets raised to believe that they are supposed to get HIV at some part of their life, that it is a good thing, or that their sole purpose in life is to get HIV as often as possible.

Nobody gets treated like a deviant freak for saying that they do not want to get HIV.

Generally people who get HIV are expected to get it treated. The stigma surrounding treatment for HIV is not related to the treatment itself. Yes, you get judged for getting it in the first place - and that is unfair, - but if you did get it, treatment is what you are supposed to do.

People who get HIV and get the treatment are not judged because the virus is a living thing and killing it is a crime. People who get treated for HIV do not get tried for murder, and neither do doctors who prescribe or administer the treatment for HIV.

If some people out there give others HIV on purpose, as a means of controlling them( e.g. forcing them to detransition), these cases are nowhere nearly as common as corrective forced impregnation.

Stigma against people who have STIs is real, and a problem that should be discussed, and shares some similarities with pregnancy, but in the end they are different issues, and both need to be discussed.

first off I want you to know I’m very generally “if you consent it’s none of my business,” but this isn’t really that situation. let’s talk smut! a lot of people really like the idea of “big scary beast that fucks you/you tame them by fucking” or w/e, and I do too, but you’ve gotta be conscious of who you put in that role. for example, black people! they’ve been dehumanized for-fucking-ever, and this is an extension of that dehumanization! especially with how people treat them as “tougher/scarier” than white people.

now, if a black person wants to play that role in a real roleplay setting, that’s awesome! good for them! but when writing it for other people to read, especially if you’re white yourself, you need to be conscientious about how you go about it.

Oh yea things like racism and other forms of bigotry (looking at you mpreg fetishization and chasers) are definitely a solid thing to dislike about kink spaces; we've gotta put in some real work to keep shit like that under control.
