hey stuff like this is actually really like. borderline manipulative and it’s one thing to just have thoughts like “oh everyone gets tired of me and leaves and i wish they didn’t” but if you say things like this to friends especially if you’re in really serious relationships where one of you is being supported by the other (even if it’s mutual) that can be really manipulative and make people feel obligated to be your friend and not leave you and make promises they don’t want to and can’t keep and can be really really unhealthy for both of you
like i understand feeling sad when friendships end but emotionally manipulating people into relationships is REALLY not cool even if you don’t realize you’re doing it, and it’s not just this post, there’s this whole mentality of like, co-dependent relationships are the MOST MEANINGFUL relationships and you have to be close FOREVER or it’s not real or whatever and that’s really unhealthy and toxic like please don’t
everyone has the right to end friendships and leave relationships whether it’s a conscious decision or happens naturally over time. relationships end. let it happen, get over it. please don’t depend on people because they are also people like you who need to have the autonomy to get out of bad situations or on a less serious level just do whatever the fuck they want with their lives
your friends might make you feel special and less alone but they don’t EXIST SOLELY FOR THAT PURPOSE and they don’t owe it to you to stick with you forever, especially if you try to make them feel like they do
Feminist Frequency on race and casting for The Hunger Games
think HARD about that: not only did they white-wash Katniss, they EXPLICITLY PROHIBITED WoC TO AUDITION FOR THE ROLE OF KATNISS. Smells like blatant racism.
Can we focus on that last part? B/c white people will always come up with “well the white actor/actress was just the best one to audtition.” Well, yeah if that’s ONLY who auditioned.
They’re theory of white actors/actresses being better doesn’t hold up if no one else if given the opportunity to even audition.
What I love about this is how Anita states right off the bat, that this is not about Jennifer Lawrence. This is about something much bigger than her. And she didn’t need to diss her to make the point. She sets hr aside, rolls up her sleeves, and tackles the bullshit head on.
Excellent approach.

Asami I love you but how stupid can you be going back to the same guy who broke your heart six months ago, cheated on you with the Avatar and not to mention ditched you for said Avatar and Mako you clearly have no qualms about dating your ex-girlfriend one week after your girlfriend went missing, right?
That’s cold, Unalaq.
apply cold water to the burned area
I actually want to see Mako develop as individual character with individual interests, not as the Avatar's boyfriend (this is coming from a person with an anti-Mako blog).
it only took wan hour for wan to win me over
am I allowed to make stupid wan puns still
I hear there's a blog dedicated to all good things korra well I'm sad to say that they'll be running out of good material rather quickly.
I feel like there's a deeper meaning behind Korra's memory loss. If Korra started taking sides, people will see her act as favoritism towards the Southern Water Tribe because she's a waterbender by default. Korra is the Avatar, and the Avatar is supposed to maintain peace and remain neutral. If she continues lashing out towards the Northern Water Tribe, the Fire Nation and the rest of the Earth Kingdom (minus Republic City because President Raiko refused to send down troops) will start taking sides. If everyone starts making alliances, it will turn into World War I.
are you fucking kidding me who said it was okay to bring m a s a m i back
I don't care if it was just a peck on the cheek it was a kiss nonetheless
why can't a girl and a guy be just friends it's like the LOK writers were like screw friendship let's giving the fandom even more reason to hate Asami!
Korra's death? What do you mean? The death as in the series? The death of potential? or the death of the character? Sorry, I'm a little lost.
In the last episode, “Peacekeepers” Korra was seen fighting a spirit, unsuccessfully attempted spiritbending in the Avatar State, but the spirit defeated her anyway and probably drowned for all we know because I’m pretty sure she fell unconscious or something.
Oh, and I’ve seen a couple pictures where Bolin and Asami are wearing fancy clothes and solemn expressions so I’m sure they were at Korra’s memorial or something. I’m sure she’ll resurface in a couple episodes.
But, I was excited when Korra was heading towards the FN, but she even screwed that up.
"Peacekeepers" is by far my favourite episode in the entire LOK series altogether.
Mako is more tolerable in this episode, because unlike Korra, he’s not doing anything irrational based on personal opinions. He is doing what is good for Republic City, and she’s being whiny because her boyfriend…
THANK YOU. Why the frick should Raiko send troops to the South? What have they ever done for R.C.? That’s right, nothing. Raiko doesn’t need his men dying for a cause that is unimportant to him. I’m so glad that he didn’t side with Korra.
I think Raiko knows the Northern Water Tribe is up to no good, and he's secretly siding with the Southern Water Tribe --- but I'm pretty sure that if he started taking sides, other people would take sides too, and a huge war will break out.

She'll come to regret her actions later when she sees the truth displayed in front of her, in the form of her dying people.
Times like these make me wonder how Janet Varney feels about her character.
Korra's death has to be permanent or I'm going to shoot something.
