She pauses for a moment at the question, eyes glancing back towards her house where her brother and father were. “No, my brother hurts them.” She replied honestly. At least this snake seemed too large for what her brother usually did to them. The nails probably wouldn’t even be able to go into the door through her body. “I shouldn’t be talking to you,” she said, focusing back on the chore she had been doing.

Merope wasn’t allowed to socialize much, and even when not in the same area as her family had always found that somehow they knew and they would punish her either physically or by hanging the snakes she spoke to up on the door to make her feel even more isolated. Still as she looked at the other she couldn’t stop herself from hissing, “you’re very pretty.”
