That familiar innocence, grown tired with the days innumerable, glinted briefly in pale blues as he unceremoniously dropped the bloodied pipe that fingers had meticulously drummed against. He didn’t have to watch out for her. He did it because he loved her. “What’s wrong—what’s wrong—wrong with Heather ? What’s wrong with Heather… ?”
“I’m --” She drew in on herself for a moment, look at his expression. Forcing the vitriol back behind her teeth. She wasn’t a nice person. Really. “I’m scared you’ll... you’ll get hurt. Leslie this place -- it’s not --” She reached forward and hugged him, hiding her face. “I don’t want you dying, or hurt, okay?” God she was a fucking terrible person, snapping like that.
