Schönmarke Gold Icewine Vidal Canada 2004.  Wow.. I’ve had whisky lighter than this. It has a beautiful amber/copper hue.  Honey and raisins on the nose.  Sweet and raisins and figs on the palate and a lingering finish.  The nose and flavors were a bit tight when I first opened it but after half an hour it has really opened up and is a great finish to a wonderful meal.

Vincent Delaporte AC Sancerre 2013 A nice crisp white on what was warm afternoon (until the hailstorm blew in). I found a pale straw color and crisp apple and a bit vegetal but not bell peppery.  Fresh, delicate and well balanced. Sauvignon Blanc 100%. This is not a bad way to start the blog. While SB is not unusual or obscure Sancerre is neglected. Cheers!
