She was trying her absolute hardest to hold it back. Lily had already went through this very scenario once with Sakura. In her eyes, her job in the group was to be the happy little ball of sunshine and pranks. Someone who could help the others smile and laugh whenever they needed it. And yet, as she listened to Yugiri’s words, those floodgates grew weaker and weaker before finally, Lily couldn’t hold it back any longer.

As she began to bawl, she took hold of Yugiri as she offered, holding onto her big sister figure tight. If there was at least one consolidation to be had, knowing she was in her mother’s thoughts put her at ease, even if just a little.

          { 明治 } yugiri holds onto lily tightly, wanting the girl to feel assured that she wouldn’t let go for anything. she could cry all she wanted, and yugiri would hold her and comfort her through it all, no matter how long it took.

she gently ran her hand through lily’s hair, doing her best to soothe the poor young girl’s anguish.

❝ if it’s any consolation to you... i promise that i will never abandon you. i love you with all of my heart and soul, lily-han. you truly are like a younger sister to me, and i would love nothing more than to stay by your side for the rest of our time together. you are more important to me than you will ever know. ❞

          { 明治 } the young girl’s tears break yugiri’s heart. she was keenly aware of the pain lily felt thinking about this, and she could only offer her condolences in response.

she gently pulled the smaller girl into a hug, sitting down on the couch and holding lily close to keep her comforted. it was the best she could do.

❝ ...sometimes, parents must make difficult choices in their lives, in pursuit of giving their children greater lives than they themselves had. of course, i cannot speak for the reason your mother left you and your father. but i am certain that whatever the reason, she did not make such a decision lightly. ❞

❝ wherever she is now, i am certain you are always on her mind, lily-han. i am sorry you were never able to see her in life. i can offer only my most heartfelt condolences, and my shoulder for you to cry on should you need it. ❞

She’s wandering over to Yugiri and shaking her…kind of before pointing to her stomach. She’s hungry, performing made Tae hungry! Last time she tried to get food herself, she devoured all the dried squid...

          { 明治 } ❝ ah, yes, i suppose that makes more sense. well, if you’re hungry, far be it from me to deny you food. ❞

luckily, she just happened to have some dried squid on her that kotaro had given to her earlier. fishing it out of her pocket, she held it close to tae.

❝ you enjoy this far more than the rest of us, so please, have as much as you’d like. i’ll find something else to eat if the need arises. ❞

          { 明治 } ❝ ...are you alright, tae-han...? perhaps you’re tired after performing for the first time in a while? ❞

“Silly, I am the Serotonin! Come here.”

          { 明治 } ❝ you certainly are, lily-han. i know i feel better every time i see your smiling face. ❞

she gently pats the smaller girl on the head.

“Yes. It was very fun to be back on stage performing our butts off. I’m very glad that it turned out well despite our early setbacks with the crowd. I’m also happy that Kotaro-san managed to make it to watch us sing as well.”

          { 明治 } ❝ it certainly was rather nice to see him in the crowd. i doubt our performance would’ve made it to the final act had he not shown up when he did. his contributions to keeping the crowd occupied so we could perform should be praised. ❞

                                       Morning already?!

It’s hard to hold in a groan. School is so long and boring. Homework, tests, clubs? So much to do, so little time. And you haven’t even gotten out of bed yet. Get up! You can’t afford to be late. The year’s far from over yet. And yet, who wants to go to school? You think about it for a moment, and then you remember:

I could see them today. You two have been flirting back and forth. Passing notes in class, silly letters left in lockers. Stolen glances that only you both understand. Maybe school’s not so bad. Plus, you have plans with your best friend after class. To go eat and then walk the streets, to see what trouble… I mean, fun you can find.

Perhaps, today will be more fun than you first thought.

💛 - A bag of friend chocolate of course has to go to Yugiri-san! Everyone's big sister in the group and the glue that keeps that together. Though Junko was also smart to never get on her bad side. "Here, Yugiri-san. I hope you enjoy them!"

         { 明治 } Yugiri gladly takes the bag of chocolate into her hands, giving a soft smile to Junko all the while. “Thank you very much for the gift, Junko-han. I’ll be sure to savor each of the chocolates inside.”

           { 明治 } “I’m... sorry you feel that way, Saki-han. I’m merely trying to act in the best interests of this group. We’ve seen what happens when Tae-han learns to say something new with the chicken call we taught her for the commercial, so I doubt we’d want that to happen with a more vulgar exclamation.”

    { 明治 } “I’m afraid I have to side with the others on this point, Saki-han... Teaching Tae-han to say words like that will do more harm than good in the long run.”
