Story time: when I was in senior high, a mentor saw worth in my music and gifted me a spare capo. That little piece of metal and plastic helped me tell stories and create adventures most wouldn't believe. 4 years ago, like a road-weary traveler, I laid down my music and shelved my stories to face the realities of being an adult with no real safety net. That capo safety nestled in my guitar case. Saturday, my mentor found rest after a fierce battle with cancer. And somehow I found myself reaching for that dusty case.
