âWhat about the relationship you two share?
M: Since the beginning, Yukirin has always been acting nicely and kindly to me, always showing me what a big heart she has. I feel like, no matter what Iâd do, she will always accept it, and sheâd always forgive me anything. Sheâs great at readily respond to my silly statements, so that feels good, too.Â
Y: I feel like that 90% of the conversation we have when weâre together is made of those silly things you say, Mayu (laughs). But that makes me happy. Because thatâs not something you do with everyone.
M: Yeah, itâs something I do only with you and Sashii, even in backstange. I feel like I canât show that side of me to the others. âCause even if I did, they prolly wouldnât understand at all (laughs).Â
Y: To me, Mayu is like a 4 years younger sister. Even though sheâs actually only 2 years younger than me (T/N: yes, Mayu is born in 1994 and Yuki in 1991, so technically she should be 3 years younger, but Iâm pretty sure it has to do with the coming of age ceremony and the fact that people born in March, for some reason, are still considered âof the previous yearâ or something like that⌠Not sure), I feel her a little younger. When it comes to work, Mayuyu is the one who shows off the most professional and mature attitude, and I wanna be the one supporting her from the most closely. I wanna be someone she can be her playful true self with.Â
âYou two have released a coupling song from the Shoot Sign single called âI Want to Listen to Sad Songsâ. This is your first official unit song together after 10 years; how does it feel?
M: Itâs a ballad, and itâs not that revealing (laughs). Itâs a nice song, though!
Y: We recorded that in different days, so we technically havenât had the chance to sing it together, yet. Thatâs why, Iâm really looking forward our first live-performance together of the song.
M: Iâm the kind of person who gets nervous on stage, and Iâm sure Iâm gonna be nervous while performing that song too, but since Yukirinâs voice is usually pretty steady and calm, Iâm sure Iâm gonna be able to do good by your side.Â
Y: I mean, youâre the one member I trust the most among everyone. Our voices match well together, when we look at each other we manage to sing in perfect synch, itâs super easy to duet with you. I wanna perform that song many times!
â10 years have passed. What about your plans for the future?
M: Yeah, I still wanna be a stage actress⌠I guess I gotta start preparing myself for that.Â
Y: I wanna keep performing and singing on stage. Actually, Iâve been enjoying a lot everything Iâve been having the chance to achieve within the 48 Group, lately. So I guess I wanna keep being the kind of solo artist who would be able to keep doing all that in the future, too.Â
âAnd what about your relationship in the future?
M: If we start not meeting frequently anymore, we wonât be able to have such fun together anymore either. And itâd make me feel sad, so weâre totally gonna keep meeting on a regular basis, and Iâm totally gonna release my stress on you! (laughs) Watcha think?
Y: Sounds good to me (laughs). Even after graduation, the things we wanna keep doing in the future arenât so far away from one another, we might meet on the same set or stage and work together as âMayuYukirinâ⌠I think there would be nothing that would make me happier.Â
