After my grandma died, the one thing of hers that I really wanted to have was this jar of beach pebbles. I played with these pebbles so much as a kid that I'm still intimately familiar with the details of most of them as an adult.

I don't know where she got them exactly. They are certainly not Nordic in origin, so she probably picked them up on a vacation. The wooden jar looks kinda like a typical Soviet-era russian souvenir and I think my grandparents used to go to Bulgaria on the occasional vacation. So maybe Bulgarian beach pebbles, but who knows.
