My Joke Undertale AU (Jundertale / Jean Undertale)
An Undertale AU where everything is the same except that Sans’ main character trait isn’t making puns but being obsessed with jean items. His name is Jans (jean sans) and his goal is to replace every item in the underground with a jean version of itself. He wears entirely jean outfits, but not in a stylish way, in a My Hero Academia Best Jeanist way.
Papyrus naturally despises the jeans and is in an eternal battle of stopping the jean-ification of his home while having no idea how Jans is jean-ifiying things.
Papyrus turns around, and now the plant pot is replaced with a jean one. Jans just laughs and says, “How do you like our new jot (jean pot)?”
When the human falls into the underground, they believe that monsters must really like jeans since, minus the ruins, the whole place is full of jean items. They slowly notice that the residents are increasingly upset with the jean items and are paranoid about letting their favorite non-jean items out of their sight.
When Papyrus and the human become friends, Paps replays the jean situation, and they spend the whole day following Jans trying to see not only how he is jean-ifying things but where the original items disappear to. They cannot seem to figure out how Jans gets the jean items and attributes it to magic, but find that Jans teleports away the items he has replaced. The two then go to various locations to get eyewitness accounts on whether the items have appeared there or not.
They’re not being teleported to the hotlands lava, or the core, or the dumping ground in Waterfall. With only one place left to look, they open the garage of the skeletons' house, and an anomalous amount of items come spilling out, covering the two.
Once they dig their way out, the other Snowdin citizens begin recognizing the lost items. Papyrus exclaims, “WOWIE. I HAD NO IDEA OUR GARAGE WAS SO BIG!” The reason he had no idea is because it’s not. Somehow, all the items Jans has replaced fit into a very normal-sized garage like clowns in a clown car. The space-bending is NOT explained or even talked about again.
Papy and the human confront Jans, who is distraught about all his hard work being erased. They have a heart to heart about stealing, but Jans insists that it’s not stealing but trading and improving. The matter is settled, and all the monsters believe the jean nightmare is over, but Jans is not one to be deterred.
Jans goes back to replacing items, but this time, instead of just putting them into the garage, he utilized Gaster’s machine and sends them across space time, never to be recovered. Now, instead of just trying to get out of the underground, the human is in a race against time to release the monsters before Jans’ jean antics drive them to insanity.
