WIP Wednesday

I was tagged by @piratefalls on Sunday and @onthewaytosomewhere today - Thank you lovelies !

I'm cheating a bit today as this isn't a WIP but a smutty, fluffy little one shot I worked on yesterday, featuring Pregnant Henry and Blue balls Alex.

It's been posted on AO3 here and there is a little teaser & tags under the cut

It has been a harrowing three months, what with the pregnancy being tricky during the second semester, with big words like hyper gravidarium being thrown around. In the end, it wasn’t such a severe condition, but as the doctor called them to let them know and Alex gave Henry the ‘good’ news, the man was hunched over the toilet bowl, puking his guts out and sending his husband a scathing glare, telling him with no words but in no uncertain terms where to shove his good news. The thing is, it’s been three months of vomiting, heartburn, headaches, and back pain. And no sex. At all.   Alex hasn’t had a good look at his balls lately, but he is pretty sure they are blue—the same shade as his lovely husband’s eyes. “Alex?” He puts down the morning paper. “Yes, baby?” “I want to have sex.” Alex grins. Sunday morning is suddenly looking up. And hopefully, so is he. “Really?” Henry takes the last bite of his croissant, rubbing his hands to get rid of the crumbs. “I think?”

Alex moves to stand over him, looking down at that soft pink mouth. He feels himself standing at a very tall, very dangerous precipice, with no intention of backing away.

Nick on Taylor (“brilliant”) and Alex (“conjures the light in Henry”)

“I mean immediately Taylor and I knew we were going to be mates. I think we both have a very dry sense of humor, he’s very British in the way that he has a mocking sense of humor, where he’s not afraid to ‘take the piss’ as we say, out of someone.

I think—you know, it was a different challenge in a lot of ways, because I’ve done a ton of chemistry tests before, in my time. You have to find something really connected there to be able to bounce off each other.

And I think the charm of Alex and Henry together is it’s kind of like a ping pong match, it’s a lot of back and forth, and Taylor’s just a very warm, charismatic guy, which I think is very much who Alex is as well, as a person. Henry’s kind of a more broken, feeling, brooding kind of character. I think Alex needed to be someone who just conjured the light in Henry, in a lot of ways, and I think we see the character brighten up as his relationship with Alex starts to evolve.

So, it was funny, it was the first time really that I had also been on the chemistry side of having been cast first and reading with a bunch of different actors. You start to gain an appreciation of the industry and the fact that some actors came in and were incredible but maybe the chemistry was slightly off or just didn’t really fit the character.

And, you know, Taylor’s different maybe in physicality from how Alex was written in the book, but I think his essence was entirely there. And he’s really smart, and he got the character, and it was just kind of a no-brainer, really. He’s, um— he was brilliant.”
