Introducing “Undiscovered Undertale Art”--a blog to promote Undertale fan art that hasn’t received a lot of attention. We reblog SFW Undertale fan art posts that have under 50 notes.
As an artist, it’s easy to become frustrated when your art gets only a few notes (or even zero notes). Algorithms that show people things that are already popular won’t help art that has gone unnoticed to find its audience. We see lots of popular posts in our feeds and it can seem like everyone else is getting a lot of eyes on their art, and we might feel alone and unseen.
I started this blog as an effort to help Undertale art that has gone relatively unnoticed to get more attention, but to serve its purpose the blog needs more people’s participation by suggesting posts to feature and, most importantly, giving likes and reblogs to the featured art and checking out the artists’ other work! Please consider reblogging this post to promote this project!
A few more details under the cut.
Q: How can I submit a post?
A: Submit a link to the post, tag us, or send it by chat to @lemurcat
Q: How many posts can I submit?
A: We don’t want to focus too much on a single artist or a minor AU, so when submitting posts by the same artist or on the same subject please don’t send more than about 3 at a time.
Q: What kinds of posts are acceptable?
A: It should be fan art posted by the artist (or with the artist’s permission, i.e. not stolen), that is recognizably Undertale-related and contains no mature content. There is no particular requirement for quality or skill, but we want to promote artists who are trying their best.
Q: Can I submit my own post?
A: Yes!
Q: How about Deltarune art?
A: Yes!
Q: How about fanfics?
A: Yes! However, make sure they are SFW and correctly labeled and tagged, and long text is behind a cut!
Q: How about comics?
A: Yes! Please avoid submitting comics that are pages of a story that is NSFW overall.
Q: What about shipping/shippy art?
A: Fluffy, innocent art is fine, but nothing suggestive. Rather than distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable ships for the purposes of this blog, I’m just going to ask for no art including kissing.
Q: When will my post be reblogged?
A: We are using a queue so that posts will be spread out. While the queue is short, it’s set to 15 per day. If it gets really long it will be sped up. So it may take some time!
Q: Can I submit art as an image submission?
A: Please submit a link to the artist’s post, so that notes will go back to the artist and not just to this blog.
Q: You reblogged a post that has more than 50 notes!
A: Sometimes a post will get more notes after we already put it in the queue, or after we reblog it; and sometimes we might reblog a post with over 50 notes as an exception if we think it really needs more.
Q: You reblogged something NSFW!
A: Oops! Please let us know.
Q: You reblogged something from a NSFW blog!
A: That’s okay so long as the post itself is SFW. Please exercise caution when clicking through to artists’ blogs.
Q: Are you saying I have to like and reblog art or I’m a bad person?
A: No! Everyone can run their blogs and likes however they want. I barely reblog anything to my personal blog, and I have my reasons. There was a time I never clicked “like” on anything unless I was actually going to revisit it later. But for people who are more liberal with likes and/or reblogs, this blog will aspire to help connect you with art that needs liking and reblogging.
Q: You reblogged my post and I don’t want you to.
A: Please submit a link to the post you want removed.
