If you could change something about the ending of the series, what would you make different? I'm obviously saddened by the ending, but I don't think some fix-it-all happy ending would've fit the mood and themes of the story; however, I would personally make it SLIGHTLY less ambiguous about Harvey's fate. Kieli has no idea, it seems, if Harvey is just slooowly recovering or slooowly dying. A hint either way would be wonderful. Is there anything you'd alter, even just a little bit?

Ahh, well, to be honest I loved everything about the ending. The ambiguous nature of Harvey’s fate is what made the story so heartbreaking, yet memorable. I can’t think of a single thing I would change because I loved the tragedy of it all. Of course, at the same time I wish the ending was happier just so I could get some closure on the whole thing. I do like the idea of imagining that one day he will wake up and take her hand again, I choose to think that he isn’t slowly dying because that’s just too sad a life for Kieli, and I don’t think that is how anyone would end their ninth book.

Do you know why the cover art for the books is so different in the English versions? The Japanese editions have such beautiful drawings, and while the English ones are appealing in a kind of eerie way, I wish I had access to the nice artsy covers. Do you think they thought it wouldn't appeal as much to the western audience?

Ah, that's a good question and I think it always goes to marketing. In Japan, we have marketing standards that portray to a different audience because our culture is just so different. While I too say that I like the Japanese cover more because of the beautiful art and the time it took to design it.I asked Ul'Yana my co-blog owner and she said that when they are creating a book the most important thing is for the book to scream "buy me" to the audience. She used the example of the Harry Potter books being different from the U.K. to the USA. Even in Japan those books are different covers.It all goes down to the targeted audience and who you want to but the product.Thank you for the interesting question
