for a lot of people who want to be/are teachers, the primary motivation is not "i love children" or "i want to make knowledge fun and accessible" or "i want to contribute to society" or "i like teaching" or anything along these lines. their primary motivation is "i want to be the center of attention" and "i want to wield power over others" and "i want to be in a position of superiority" and just a general need for a higher authority position, and i believe that is where we as a society fucked up
