[Journal #1..?]
Can’t remember quite how long its been since I moved out of home now, and the feeling of being homesick seeps in a little more now and then. I heard keeping a journal can help with those feelings, let them have a place to be, so that I can keep enjoying myself here. So- Journal.
TBH I have no idea if I’ll stick to this. I’d like to. I don’t know what people really write in journals... the mundane day-to-day stuff, I suppose? Well I’m only writing this for me, so I can write whatever I like really.
Think its time for a surprise date with ‘Napa this weekend 💜 💜

“Well..at least I’m not in your closet, this time..”
" I mean, yeah, it could be worse... but... Well... Is this necessary? "
A bears homestead was not a cage, the human crouching down in front of her's seemed to think so too. Bravely reaching in and touching the leather straps that wrapped around her head, holding her muzzle shut- only allowing her to take tiny nips at things and drink ever so often if the water bowl was full enough, which it rarely ever was. It caused her pain, that and the metal ring that had been driven through her upper lip.
_ It hurt him to look at this, to see a majestic creature being held away like this. This was why he hadn’t wanted to come to the circus - but it’s a little hard to say ‘no’ when your best friend had already bought the tickets. They’d be done buying snacks soon, he needed to sneak his way back out of these tents soon.He couldn’t leave this poor thing like this. Could he break it out? What would happen if he did? Would it maul him, and everyone else here before being put down?It was so delicate, the way it looked into his eyes as his fingers gently danced upon its muzzle and binds. The way their eyes met, he couldn’t believe this gentle spirit could hurt anyone. That was it - He had to find a way to get it out.First thing was first; The cage. Obviously, the key wasn’t going to just be sitting around in plain sight. He whispered a gentle, “I’ll be right back”, akin to what one says to a slumbering pet before getting up for a toilet break. There had to be something he could use around here to pry the cage open, even with his measly muscles. The search came to an end when his shaky hands came upon something that looked functionally similar to a crowbar, but presumably had some other purpose of which he was unfamiliar. Hopefully, he thought as he returned to the bear cage, it wasn’t anything used negatively towards the poor bear.Well, here goes nothing. Jimmying the makeshift crowbar into the latch of the cage door, he levied as much of his weight into it as he could. Though at first it didn’t seem as though he’d get very far with the effort, he was pleasantly surprised to find the latches did soon buckle with a rather satisfying crack.Next, was that muzzle wrapping. _
With her giant head almost resting on his tigh, she waited patiently for him to either get out of her way or continue- which he did cutting away at the leather straps keeping her trapped in her furry body, and quite frankly pacified against her will amongst other things.
It’d been ages since she’d been allowed to roam free without feeling something constricting her movement or breathing. So her disbelief was abundant as the last strap snapped off and she could move back to swipe at it with her paw, wiping off the headgear much like a cat cleaning itself, shaking herself after finally being free of the constricting gear.
Now with her muzzle freed she gently tested out if it’d still open for a yawn- which it did- feeling rather sore and rusty but it did. Opening wide for a big toothy yawn as she shifted around to avoid alarming him with her movement.
Upon realizing that he was probably not going to budge in some kind of daze, she decided to express gratitude in the most disney way possible - Humans loved it when animals acted like those disney characters- by gently nudging his face with her nose giving him a deep huff. She’d show him the full extend of her gratitude some time later, turning back right this instant would probably serve to freak him out.
_ That brought a definite smile to his face, to watch this beautiful animal able to move freely and without suffering. This nose ring, though - he had no idea how to deal with that. Though next thing he knew ... like something out of a children's show! He couldn't help but laugh childishly in glee before setting the animal calmly down away from him so he could swearch for something to free them from their horrible metal ring. Bolt cutters or something? Would they even have that around here? If there were, it would've made the initial breakout a hell of a lot easier - in fact everything could have been done with bolt cutters. In exasperation as he searches, he sighs and says out loud to no one in particular, "Are there any bolt cutters around here?". _

Oh he seemed much too tall to be crouching, she only noticed now, pushing all resentment and bitter hatred aside for a little bit of curiousity. Such a strange human, differing much from what she was used to see, either freaks or visitors, but he seemed to linger inbetween and outside the lines. So she waited. Heaving the bony mass of her body around to fully look at the newcomer as he set to work on her cage.
It was satisfying to see a bullhook being used for good, instead of driven into ones skin to push them around. Who would’ve thought it would break her out? As if to assist him she pressed her forehead against the bars of the cage door, lingering there even after it broke and gave way.
She held still with her head in place, frozen up in disbelieve. Someone had broke her out. She was free..well almost but..someone trusted her enough to believe- righteously so- that he’d go unharmed.
_ A part of him was actually surprised the bear didn't immediately associate him - a human being - with whatever monster that did this to them. It was a small part, unrelated to the rest of him currently digging out a pocket knife. Doesn't take long for the blade to start slicing on through the leather straps that kept this beautiful beast's maw sealed. As he slowly sliced through the leather he observed the overall state of the calm bear - taking in the damages dealt and the other things he'd be wanting to remove to ease its comfort. There's a twang as the knife finishes cutting through a strap and it snaps away from the maw, helpfully being attached to the others. There should have been a part of him that said "Hey, bears mouthes have a lot of teeth" but there wasn't. He didn't hesitate to remove that strapping. All that was left was the metal ring -- He wasn't sure how to deal with that one.

It was insane how much time had passed since Chris and Josh were stuck on the mountain. The young man was looking for rope or something to at least try to get Josh out of the mine. But there hadn't been any emergency rope. Chris assumed there had been some in the lodge and that would have been great if it hadn't burnt down. He was kind of running out of options and was heading back to the mines with his kills before he smelled it. Fire. Slowly he walked into appeared to be a camp sight.
_ It was a nice evening, the sun was just setting over the horizon and it was quite a sight to behold. The fire was just starting to crackle into life, and he was still making a little ring of rocks to keep it contained - Also, it helped make it look like a more picturesque camp site.As he sat down on the wood stump he’d designated his chair, a tent erected behind him, he noticed someone coming over the rise. A stranger, and they looked worse for wear.Soon as he’d sat himself down, he was risen again to help. There was no hesitation to approach the stranger at all - Spring or not, it wasn’t all that warm at dusk. _
“Hey, hey! Are you okay? Come on, come over here. Fire’s going… Get you warmed up.”
