Half the game is getting yourself out of environments that no longer serve you & that don’t align with the life you want
Especially when so many people have the “sunk-cost fallacy” mindset of life, which is something that I absolutely still struggle with. Like “ive been studying this for so long”, “ive been friends with them for so long”, “ive been working here for so long”, and when problems arise and become genuinely serious and long-term, we feel like we have to see it through and “tough it out” or fix what we don’t like about it. We burn ourselves out on both ends of the candle because we’re in a situation that is draining us, and trying to put in energy to “fix” it.
We should remind ourselves that its okay to leave workplaces, social circles, etc. that no longer serve us (generally speaking). You’re not a quitter for gently walking away from something or someone that no longer makes you happy or improves your life.

SHOW. UP. AS. HER. Not next week, not next month. Not next year. In real-time, in the present moment right now. Each time you delay your very best self in the future you’re screaming to the universe ‘I am not worthy as I am right now’. I am not worthy of investing in me, in how I look, in going to the pilates classes, in taking myself out for the nice lunch I promised, on going on the trip that’s been on my bucket-list for years. On waking up early like I promised myself. Delay, delay, delay. There will always be delays unless you DECIDE to take control. Unless you decide that the version of you in this moment IS WORTHY of the investment. Each of us has in mind this higher, elevated version. The 2.0. The upgraded you. Your job is to build habits that bridge the current you to the elevated you. What needs to change to get you over the bridge? What do you need to do? What do you need to stop doing? These are the daily questions. Do some reflections. Make a plan. Stick to it.
You cannot live alone on the fantasies you feed to your mind, eventually you have to touch your life for real, assess and analyze your habits, understand your character, try not to hate yourself for your character as it was shaped when you were very young by circumstances outside of you, and begin learning how to cope with your character, how to build habits that work for you, finish small projects, finish big projects, expose yourself to more uncomfortable situations, assess why you want to leave that friendship before you leave it, raise your anxiety levels on purpose, so that you can grow, raise your work load on purpose, so that you can grow, so that you can build resilience, so that your life expands, and can be experienced by you in full and in reality
