火　：：

      “Good morning...” 6AM. Drowsiness lingers within every inch of his body, refusing adamantly to let go. Such conditions were common-- thought Honebami ruled himself more of a type to favour mornings, sleep was far too appealing to resist. The chance to escape the rambunctious noise of the rowdier crowd and more rest? What a luxury.

Regardless, duties and his unwavering loyalty pinned him down; he will not escape his responsibilities, he thinks, as he eases into his seat at the table. All at once does a ruckus begin again: tantous cry over split milk, someone’s soup is stolen, and a food fight looms overhead.

“... I don’t understand how you can deal with this.” he whispers, withholding his urge to slam his head down.

Kijin..?

The wakizashi’s voice is incredibly soft, and Kijinmaru finds that he had to strain his ears to clearly make out what he was saying.  He doesn’t mind, though.  It is a nice change of pace.  Normally the other swords were so loud, so aggressive when they spoke.  But here, in the middle of a silent field with only whispered words, Kijinmaru feels more at peace than he had in a while.

He blinks at Honebami’s words, a ghost of a smile touching his lips.  “Aha…yes, I am.  We used to battle side-by-side,” he explains.  It seemed that was how everyone knew him - that one sword that is close to Izumi.  It wasn’t surprising, though.  He didn’t really talk to anyone, after all.  Maybe he should try to be more approachable…

Kijinmaru can’t help but feel a bit proud at Honebami’s statement about him not mixing him up with his brother.  Even though he doesn’t speak much, that doesn’t mean Kijinmaru doesn’t pay attention.  And he certainly knew who these swords were.

“Ah…that’s right.  Namazuo, correct?  You two do look very alike!”  He smiles a bit.

火 ：：

     Metal clunks against the fluffed dirt, his arm swinging the hoe in repetitive motions. The routine silence and solitude he held, in contrast to Kijin’s, was in much need of a change of pace. Detached from most others, he isolates himself within the confines of nature for peace, and returns daily to the citadel to face the tiny dose of chaos that ensues when swords do what swords.... well, happen to naturally do. 

“Side by side...?” It is then when he cranes his neck, swiveling to impose his gaze. “So, like old friends, then?” Such a question is asked out of innocence and pure curiosity, no harm intended, although a smile is tempting, considering just how... exclusively close his company seems to be to Izumi. Though, that isn’t exactly his business, hm? 

“Yes... that is correct.. though, we... look alike?” Pauses litter his speech, hesitation verbally expression rather than facially-- he wonders then if white and black hair can be so easily confused. Perhaps their tendency to stick together is more so an accurate reason.

Izumi had told him a bit about an interesting pair of swords in the camp.  Two wakizashis, to be exact.  According to Izumi they were nearly inseparable, fighting and working side-by-side.  Kijinmaru found that interesting, he supposed.  Not that he would actively seek them out to make friends, but at least he had an inkling of who they were.  

But then chores happen.  

It was Kijinmaru’s turn to tend to the fields, not that he minded all that much, and he was helping another sword to pick out weeds and hoe the soft soil.  He had never met this sword before, but he seemed familiar somehow…a short figure with shockingly white hair.

Ah…Izumi had mentioned this blade before hadn’t he?

Kijinmaru paused in the middle of his work, balancing his weight on the hoe he was holding.

“Pardon me…but you wouldn’t happen to be Honebami Toushirou, would you?”

火    ：：      Although the wakizashi holds a preference of being a sword of few words, he is far from blissfully ignorant of those around him-- Honebami is highly observant, all ears and eyes yet no mouth. Words would be wasteful when a blank slate such as him knows next to nothing about communication (particularly of the emotional type). Cold shoulders and absorbing the fluttery gossip of passersby suited his reticent lifestyle better. Much better. 

Though that isn’t to say he’d break it once in a while. 

“Ah.... yes, that’s me.” he answers softly, as if any further weight would crush the budding sprouts around them. A pause of movement is not spared; the silver haired boy continues work whilst conversing, lithe fingers cradling baby seedlings with bursts of featherweight touches. His hands have some sort of affinity for nature, you could say. 

“You’re a f.... riend of Izumi’s, aren’t you?” The word is drawn out in a breath’s hesitation, an uneasy doubt having settled within his throat. “.... Kijinmaru Kunishige.” he adds.

“I’m surprised... you didn’t mix me up with my brother..”

「 cxx:{}:::::::> 」

Izumi smirks faintly for a moment but it soon leaves his face as he forces himself to appear serious, nodding and tapping his index finger to his lips. ❝ Hmhm~ I wonder too. I heard he’s a furry. ❞

  　火 ：：           Izumi’s remark lights up a temptation to smile, but he’s able to suppress it-- the next words that tumble out are hushed with soft disbelief:      “Another furry? In our house? I didn’t think that was likely. We already have.... “ Wince. “Foxy grandpa, do we not?”

MIDARE NO

“Don’t be a dick dude, it’s a fucking ouchy! Thought we were bros?!”

  火 ：：      “M-Midare.... ?!” Shock, then his tone lowers, threatening with concern. “Who taught you this profanity...”

   火　：：        He cranes his neck. Shouldn’t we get that treated better first...?                      “Midare, how old are you?”

Izumom:

「 cxx:{}:::::::> 」

Bored out of his mind, he decides to look to Honebami and Namazuo, ignoring everyone else in the room, deciding to mock their brother. ❝ Hello, I’m Ichigo Hitofuri. Awataguchi family? Of course I love them! Hirano, Atsu, Maeda, Akita, Hakata, Midare, Yagen, Namazuo, Honebami, Gokotai, and… ❞ He pretends to look at his hand, as if writing is there, ❝ Na… Na… Nagisa Hazuki? ❞

     火 ：：            “Who?” Playing along, he picks up the part, a dull uninterested confusion washing over his face. Of course, the wakizashi is fully aware-- though to be honest? In his honest opinion? Honestly? Nakigitsune was a sword of fewer words than him; no wonder this family often missed him.

   火 ：：           The mass before him blurs within itself-- summer heat does nothing to ease the headache and grogginess of one’s freshly awakened state after a (god knows how long) nap, and his mood wavers the thinnest of lines. There’s so many saniwas. Too many. 

Fear. 

“Boy, I sure missed this....” Not.

   「火 ：：          “I’m not sure what sleep is anymore...”　」

Sen:

“You think so?” She breathed a light chuckle, amused. “It’s all thanks to you guys. You, Namazuo, and pretty much everyone else.” If it weren’t for the team, she’d probably be mince meat for the kebishii. That is not how she wanted to go about dying, eugh.

“I might not go to sleep anytime soon,” She noted the how the night breeze was best at this time. The perfect background filled with celestial wonders together, how the wind carries the aroma of spring, it’s not something to miss at all. “Why don’t you enjoy this for bit with me?”

　「火 ：：           “Of course. You’re the heart and leader of it all.” Though impassive firsthand, a lazy smile draws a curve among pale lips, the lack of sleep loosening his demeanor. “I may be here to protect and fight for you, but strategy is most important, isn’t it? That’s what you’re here for.” 

Praises sing, though they are but a rarity-- he’s simply not the type to indulge in them. Yet appreciation here and there works, right? The stoic character he carries upon his shoulders tastes like a burden when gratitude and emotional bonds enter the discussion, the sociably adept was a group that excluded him.

“Hmmm.. I won’t be sleeping either if you aren’t. The worry will keep me up.” Feet carry him sluggishly, muscles sore, but adrenaline present. “If you don’t mind, then.. may I?” And fingers gesture, to the spot near hers.

Hurrykawa:

  “Huwah—!” The startled gasp to elicit from the jostled wakizashi. Himself preoccupied as well with the handful of lists he’d been examining thoroughly and organizing for proper filing, thus he hadn’t seen or detected the approach of the other male. There goes some of the papers to slip and fly as several steps were taken in retreat. “Honebami-san…!” recognizing who he’ collided with. Though it was partly strange to see someone often alert to have been offguard.

 "I’m fine, don’t worry— oh no the lists!“ Realizing as the breeze picked up and beginning to toy with the papers and scatter them.

 「 火 ：：         The mind was aflutter, as were the papers-- oh wait, the papers! Drowsiness still victimizes him, however, grasping his consciousness in a delicate little bottle; he has to press a palm to his forehead before the current events are processed and stabilized, but once complete, he dives in to aid his fellow blade.

   “Sorry.” A handful of documents now occupying his left, his mumbles are soft, yet apologetic. “Are you doing chores for Kane-san again, Horikawa?”

Kashuu:

          {✿} —; “Alright! Good. Now then I just need you to hold still.” he was pretty positive that Honebami had already been staying as still as he possibly could, but nevertheless would he suggest the other halt their body. “Now I just need to get this applied on correctly….” the uchi took some foundation and applied it across Honebami’s face, then taking a brush and gently blending in the solution.

　「 火 ：： 　　“Easier done than said.” Always rather statuesque, the only movement that dares occur is the fluttering of eyelashes (and maybe a blink here or there, as natural). The strokes arrest his eyes, the fluidity forming a new appreciation for makeup, so as idle as he can be, an inquiry seeps through.

   “Is it like calligraphy?”
