neil's relationship w/ the foxes on the internet as seen through the eyes of the fans
neil's a constant feature on allison and matt's social media. every time allison drags neil to go shopping with her on their bimonthly "dates", she posts cute selfies on them on instagram: a sunny picture of neil smiling softly at the camera in a cafe booth, eating pancakes with chocolate smudged lips and allison's heel clad feet on his lap, captioned: pancakes & shopping w this cutie or a selfie of her winking with neil behind her holding half a dozen shopping bags, looking slightly confused.
matt is a more casual poster with normal everyday snapchat stories of neil and him at the gym, snaps of their shared breakfast orders or once, hilariously, a picture of neil glaring at the freshmen at practice w/ the caption, "my buddy's sharp tongue isn't just unleashed at the unsuspecting media"
nicky is obviously a twitter addict and CONSTANTLY entertains the people with ridiculous updates of the foxes, especially neil. he has a "neil josten is fine" thread which he continues to add to every time neil does something adorably stupid:
@neiljostenexy caught his fingers between the door and the latch when it closed and he just stood there staring at his bleeding fingers muttering "i'm fine" until @andrewjm threw his toast at him.

dan is an absolute fan of compilations of the foxes on youtube and keeps sharing them on her socials:

psu or hollywood? all the fox controversies in the past month (47 minutes. wymack blinks and then decides to get drunk)
renee mostly just reblogs or retweets wholesome content from sweet messages to aesthetic moodboards of the foxes whereas aaron literally doesn't give a shit except to occasionally post screenshots of the foxes group chat where neil is being especially dumb (but, like, in a funny way. aaron couldn't care less).
kevin is too deeply disturbed by the PR nightmare that the foxes are to contribute to this himself but he ocassionally posts long winded posts on facebook (yes, he's a facebook guy don't @ me) on the importance of proper diets and health, to which neil once replied with a picture of andrew eating from a huge tub of ice cream and staring at the camera blankly. it quickly became a crowd favorite.
as for andrew, he doesn't really post anything but the minyard-josten rivalry is one of the most famous dramas on the internet, even outside the exy sphere. basically, it's just andrew straight up declaring, "i hate neil josten" every opportunity he gets during press interviews and neil countering with a shrug and saying, "he just really hates every inch of me." the foxes, obviously, love this and instead of denying the rumors (again, their PR team hates them), they add to the drama by commenting, "yeah those two are constantly at each other's throats, literally can't pull them apart" (matt didn't recover from that one for a week).
someone posts a hilarious video of a collection of neil and andrew clips of them bickering on the court, roasting each other on social media and interviews, andrew glaring at neil during games (it's actually just a really intense eyefuck tbh) as the background music of GET DOWN FOR WHAT keeps getting louder and louder. dan reblogs it for over a week.
the fans are absolutely confused as fuck over the rivalry and the team's super open and frank approach to it. are they actually enemies? is this a huge private joke?
and then one day andrew joseph minyard posts for the first time: a picture of neil in andrew's infamous black hoodie asleep in the passenger seat, his feet on the dashboard, with the soft morning sunlight filtering in through the window, painting neil in a warm, cozy light, captioned: "nothing to see here" (it's an inside fucking joke and only neil gets it)
the internet explodes.
