I can see how music impacts us a lot too since in our early syscovery days everyone was like . Named after either a song or a music artist and those songs and stuff were like . kinda integral to them ,,,, We were and still are pretty big on theming so it was more like a willful thing to be so music based .

So, I'm not very spiritual at all, but my previous therapist was, and apparently she told my dad that she sees a "boy" me and a "girl" me and that's why i act so different at times

then last year i ended up with my syscovery, and we have a protector who like. vanishes for several months and then fronts at 2 am for an hour and then vanishes again. but he's very older brother

and as it turns out, my mom had a miscarriage before i was born, and it was a boy. so my dad (who doesn't know about my plurality) said maybe he still lives on within me

i don't really know what to think of it? as early as i can remember i always wanted an older brother, and i guess in some sort of way i have it through our protector. but now i kind of like to think he's my actual older brother who passed before i was born

not really important but i didn't like hearing about the "girl" me because i. am not a girl. i am transmasc. that was weird

I'm not sure if I've experienced a similar experience, I've got some suspcions...

This sounds like a very personal experience, I'm not great at commenting on those kinds of experiences, but I'm glad you've got some sort of brother figure with you, even if it's through plurality :D

Our unique plural experience is both ours and our bf's. He introjected one of our alters, which was already and (divergent) introject of one of his alters, which was an introject of an oc of his. Russian doll introjection

I rarely introject alters from other people. I guess the only one we got was a B-Sailor introject from a friend but that's it.

Having back to back introjections with other plurals is so funny, but when it happens I think it's a sign that you're really close with them.

Not sure how unique this is, but haven't come across another system doing something similar. We don't really use any system roles which are well-known. We all see this as too meaningless for us and restricting, so we use our own terms. Such as more general, less-specific labels of Paths & Titles that meanings change overtime.

Essentially, the Paths are exactly the same ones from the game Honkai Star Rail, and everyone typically has more than one. These broad Paths can relate to personality traits, things they like to do and so on, and may not always have the same meaning. Someone with the Path of Elation is generally more energetic, less anxious, and chaotic; someone with the Path of Erudition is generally logical, a planner, and more thoughtful than others; someone with the Path of Equilibrium is more detached, caring about morals, and making compromises between headmates; and so on.

Then, Titles are similar to roles, but they have no inherent meaning, and what they mean can change with time. They're sometimes inspired by media, and they are more fun and less serious. Like the Seer Strategist for someone who acts without restraint, creating good change and progress; or Masquerader for someone who protects secrets and masks when necessary.

I hope I explained this well enough for someone to understand and relate to. :)

This reminds me of the old Purgatory sisasystem and how they love using strange titles related to angels, psychopomps, and deceased spirits. I... I don't really understand what their title system means but it sounds like it has nothing to do with plurality itself ^^;

There's also a specific syshost (Vintage) who's come up with the concept of "sun and moon alignments" based on how certain alters think, perceive, and what they embody (now that's a concept I sort of understand). He's thinking of adding some other elements if notices any, like wind and water, maybe love and shadow... Which won't make sense until we make proper definitions for them. That's Vin's project though, I don't know if I should interfere.

I have a feeling these alignments might replace the basic role terms we've been using (like persecutor or attendant). Maybe not artisan though.

it feels like my possible [unlikely] plurality is HIGHLY dependent on the amount of stress in our life - and the amount of downtime I have.

for example, I’ve been going on work trips away from phobic family and establishing a routine - whilst out there, I feel quite singlet at work, then expand into being able to question plurality during leisure hours.

And to contrast - while at home/in higher-stress environment where I have to be “on” for longer, I’m more singlet.

And finally, while on a vacation of sorts with my good friend, I’d been as singular and non-questioning as I’d been in some time - until the schedule meant I was left solo for a day in an unfamiliar home where we have to keep an ear out for the residing family walking around/interacting with us.

I’m not sure if this is entirely coherent - we slept like shit last night lol

You could be some flavor of plurallet, and that's what from what I understand about you. Also your plurality sounds "adaptive", like it only engages with specific stressors or amounts of stress.

Maybe unique plurality? Our kins are kinda based off of our headmates, or at least the kins are influenced because of them. (Is there a term for that? I'll have to look and see what I can find)

So for example if we get a wolf headmate I get a wolf kin because we dont have much separation and theres a lot of bleed over. We recently got a dragon headmate and now I've been getting shifts of horns and a tail and just getting the general vibe that I should be a dragon. The feeling gets stronger the closer to front she (the dragon) is and even if shes not in front the feeling still lingers. This is the best way we can describe it so hopefully this makes sense

The only term I've come across is kin-bleed, I don't know any other terms for it. You could also check out kin system but I'm really not sure if this works. I must've missed something because I'm not sure where to look for a term like this.

Plus we wouldn't really relate, most of everyone's kintypes and/or nonhumanity stick to their identity. Except puppetkin, but I think it's because the body is inherently a puppet vessel? Yeah.

Species Slider

Definition:

Species sliding is when the species that a headmate feels or behaves as changes over time. Some species sliders have a static species that they slide into or out of, and others do not. Species sliders may slide from a specific range of species to species while others encompass a wider spectrum between the two. As an example, one may slide from complete wolf to human, while another might slide from humanoid werewolf to human.

We have been questioning if we're plural for about a month. It almost feels like we've come unspooled, like acknowledging that we might exist as a system instead of a singlet has caused us to become undone. We've been hazy, easily distracted, foggy, blurry, forgetful, etc since syscovery. The body has also gotten sick multiple times in the past month- significantly more than it usually does. We don't know much, so we just wanted to ask if this is a normal response to discovering plurality, or if other systems have experienced it

I'd say so, I think we remember having brainfog or "mind static" when we first considered whether we were a system (also if we had DID, and it turns out it's OSDD-1b). But we were already chronically fatigued and stressed out by school back then. Our identity didn't blur all of the time because we still had what we believed to be the core of the system fronting most of the time. Before syscovery we did notice there were gaps in memory, they'd come back once very now and then, they weren't all stressful memories either.

We did notice that during our partner's syscovery, they did seem a little more disorganized and forgetful, but I've no idea if there was more brainfog going on.

But honestly, with syscovery you'll become way more aware of your identity blurring. The rest? Well it depends on why you're experiencing brainfog and forgetfulness, but I wouldn't doubt it either. Amnesic barriers can start off subtly for certain systems.

I think a lot of plurals when they discover themselves go through a phase like this. They get used to it and then it becomes second nature, expected.

Or they don't get used to it(?).

Welcome to a new blog, modular culture is!

This blog is designed for modular plurals and systems to share their stories, vent free hardships, unique ways your system works, resources or apps for modular systems, and more.

I made this blog because of a lack of content about modular systems.

I also strive to make this blog interactive, commenting on every ask that I post instead of empty posting them.

I will do my best to make this blog screen reader friendly, however I use a nontraditional screen reader so it may not be accessible to everyone or everyone's screen reader.

I make each sentence a new paragraph for easier readability, but if that is not easier let me know and I will add a regular paragraph version at the beginning.

I use the terms flare, alter, headmate, and member pretty much interchangeably on this blog, depending on who is fronting.

This is because all of our alters, headmates, and members are flares, but not all systems alters are flares.

Flares are a term for temporary alters made up of fragments in a modular system.

Technically I cannot remove all anti endogenics from my space but know that I am pro endogenic, pro willogenic, and pro polymind.

Cw for throwing up/gagging, forced switches

One unique thing about our plurality are the switches. Normal switches? Flawless, wouldn't even notice.

Forced/emergency switches? Now these ones make us feels like throwing up. However, it also depends on who is forcing it. Our powerful headmates switching in? (Eldtrich horrors, that chronokinesian, gatekeeper, the alive headspace) Absolutely horrible.

Less powerful ones like angels, demons, and those fuckass humans with magic? Better but still horrid.

Now for humans, animals, and small shadow beings, we still get the feeling of wanting to throw up but it's very subtle.

Nobody knows why this happens but we just roll with it. Sure, we want to throw up when we force switches. Why not?

We can also feel sick, but mostly when there's excessive switching happening (especially possessive switches). Nausea is rare, it still happens, but we're much more likely to get headaches.

It doesn't matter who switches, if it's done way too many times within a few hours our body can't stand it! Staying hydrated helps us, not sure if it'd help y'all in any shape or form. Rest too.

I just realized that I don't know if we know how to do forced switches though. Weird.

every month or so we form some version of twins or triplets. something they're source siblings, sometimes they're another headmate who split into 2+ headmates that consider themselves related somehow.

We've had something similar occur before, but not as frequent and not everyone claims to be related, they just arrive in pairs because of their source or how they compliment each other.

Our unique plural experience is that we have altera that change the flavor in our mouth. One of us changes it to the taste of slightly bitter tea and one of us changes it to the taste of something kinda sweet-ish? It's usually related to our food preferences.
