Jonathan Larson wrote Superbia which has the base plot of: The world of Superbia is controlled by the evil Master Babble Articulator (MBA), and all emotions are suppressed in favor of the television broadcasts, with members of society programmed for their specific path in life. The main character is "Josh Out #177583962," who unlike the rest of the world has true emotions, making him an outcast.
He originally set out to write a similar story based off of George Orwell’s 1984. The reviews and feedback for Superbia were not the greatest, simply for the fact that they didn’t believe that the world could be absorbed and controlled by the media. That’s exactly what happened and he predicted it. So he was told to write what he knows, which they show us in Tick Tick..Boom, where he was spending time trying to write the perfect song (One Song Glory?) but he was actually wasting time because his girlfriend was leaving and his friend was dying - so is the perfect song worth the loss of your time? During the time that he was writing Superbia is when a lot of the people around him were dying and living in fear. Fear of how they were going to make it to the next paycheck when their electricity was already shut off. Fear of love because how could someone be bisexual at this time and try to form a relationship? Do you love the person enough that you risk your health, or do you love someone in silence from far away because you put your health first. I cannot imagine being a writer at this time period, yes I’m 32 and have seen a lot. But the thing about the AIDS epidemic is that it wasn’t just that it was killing people. It was killing love. It was killing the ability of being able to love who you wanted to love.
Love does not mean you should be punished. So he wrote what he knew and blessed us with Rent, which shows the cast living a year through heartbreak, coffee, death, and love, while overcoming the crisis that had taken over the streets they called home. (Please bring it back, we need it more than ever right now.) if you go back to early recordings of rent Jonathan Larson has a recording of him doing the part of Mark for one of the songs, I am not one to out someone but this makes me think that Jonathan Larson himself may have been bisexual, and the Village Voice, Mark Cohen was actually based off himself. The bisexual man that doesn’t have aids but doesn’t have a partner but has to watch everyone he loves die anyways. How could anyone say yes to love when they were making it a death sentence? The hero’s journey is not always beautiful, but the music always is.
I do think that he knew deep down how successful Rent would be even though he wasn’t here to see its run. Broadway and that entire community and network gained one hell of an angel when he died.
I think another problem with Superbia being shot down was the fact that the people reviewing it weren’t creative enough. They not only didn’t believe in it, but they couldn’t see the idea of it. Those are people who refuse to see outside of the pretty box people want to shove things inside. So what if Superbia wasn’t just an idea for a musical, what if it’s what is actually happening? To believe that you have to be creative enough to imagine it being possible first.
I always found myself so strange to have this recurrent fantasy when I was younger and it lasted until my teen years. I would feel like we are each in a dollhouse and each day the way we move about and function is just like a kid playing with their toy. Yes I am aware that this is basically the Sims, but I felt like one and thought everyone else was one too. I was not a Toy Story kid and I also played with TMNT action figures over Barbie’s so it’s odd to me that that was the fantasy I made up in my mind. But as an adult I see it for what my mind was trying to tell me as a kid, we are all controlled until we cut the string. Puppets gather strength in their time of solitude and can strike back when you least expect it.
So what if the world of Superbia happened or is happening? What if the music industry themselves created an army of sorts. Writers, musicians, athletes, anyone who sees it for what it really is. They all banned together to create something that could defeat the MBA. They created a music box that would teach the world to heal with love. Our current reality could be based on La Vie Boheme, it could be described as the New Romantics. But those two things have 1 thing in common, they both Smell Like Teen Spirit. For example there are so many fictional books being written about gangs of young adults coming together as one to overthrow their parents who are the true sinners in the story, they are the actual villains and everything they were raising those kids to be taught them to be anything BUT their parents so when their time came they could cause a revolution.
Rent (stylized in all caps) is a rock musical with music, lyrics, and book by Jonathan Larson. Loosely based on the 1896 opera La bohème by Giacomo Puccini, Luigi Illica, and Giuseppe Giacosa, it tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan's East Village, in the thriving days of the bohemian culture of Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
The musical was first seen in 1993 in a workshop production at New York Theatre Workshop, the off-Broadway theatre which was also where the musical began performances on January 26, 1996; the show's creator, Jonathan Larson, died suddenly of an aortic dissection, believed to have been caused by undiagnosed Marfan syndrome, the night before. The musical moved to Broadway's larger Nederlander Theatre on April 29, 1996 (“do you want to know where I was April 29th?”). The Broadway production closed on 9/7/2008 after 12 years making it one of the longest-running shows on Broadway. Grossing over $280M

On the soundtrack for the movie the cover is made of of 7 color boxes, and each character is in one color. 7 colors for 8 people. (87)
7-G
8-H
GH: growth hormone? HG: holy grail?
4/8 characters have AIDS. (8+4=12)
Red- Benjamin Coffin lll
-> Benjamin Button is TS 3rd cat.
->the guy that has history of living below and above class standards, the battle of morally right and wrong.
->Taye Diggs has a Grey’s Anatomy connection.
->In LWYMMD she is in a coffin, and she is also in one in the Anti-Hero video
->Red is her 4th album, the character is the 3rd. 43 mirrored is 34, her age right meow.
Orange- Angel Dumott Schunard (his name is legally Wilson)
*”angels roll their eyes”
->The drag queen and eventually dies from AIDS
->IF you ever need a cry just listen to “I’ll Cover You” the reprise during Angels funeral. If you don’t feel something at that moment there is something wrong with you.
->Orange is a color that she has teased in her history but she has never established its meaning, it’s just a color at this point, a color with a lot of speculation. “Dude looks like a lady” keeps popping up in my mind. A lot I of people assume that orange is going to be Karma. But think about it if the lore is true, why would she settle for one color when she is the whole damn rainbow?
Gray- Mimi
->the stripper at the Kitty Kat club, has AIDS on medication but is also an addict. Gets into a little bit of a pickle, she hooks up with Ben before meeting Roger.
->Gray is TTPD. Ah something I didn’t even think of is how freaking common it has been in the media for firing women who have a normal 9-5 job but are also boss ladies working OF at night and then getting fired at their jobs for being too provocative. Double standard much, because what were you doing on her page to begin with?
Blue- Mark
->the man behind the camera. His girlfriend leaves him for another woman, and he is rogers roommate. He does not have AIDS but he sees all of his friends suffer.
->Blue and camera/photo aesthetic matches 1989
Green-Roger
->once had a career as a musician but grief does something to you as a person that makes you different when you come back. He finds out he has AIDS when he finds his girlfriend’s suicide note. When she got the news about herself, she killed herself in the bathroom. *ah so him and Mimi were karmic partners, they found together in their shared grief and illness and tried to create love from it. He spends his time trying to write the perfect song “One Song Glory”. -> -> this is so very much the character of John in TTB which I have mentioned, but what I didn’t say is that Roger and John are the two sides to the same coin. One is sick and wasting time, the other is wasting time when everyone he loves is sick and dying. They will both lose in the end, yet they are choosing to miss their middle. They are both wasting time trying to create the most perfect song that they think will make it all better and their world will automatically change. It’s not true at all because even if it is the best song to you and even Sondheim it does not mean it would be the best song to EVERYONE. We spend so much time wasted away trying to perfect the standard of those around us and everyone else, have we ever asked what perfect means to us? I know I haven’t. But I am going to start.
->green has been associated with Debut…. Do you know what a synonym for Debut is? Its “coming out” and “inception” *3/17 was the 1st day of tour and she did not wear green for any of the sets.
-> green is mentioned on the Speak Now, Red, 1989, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights. (6 albums.) but not debut, debut has green accents to the photos but no part of them are green in themselves. How did green become associated with debut? Debut actually has the following colors mentioned: blue, black, red, gray, and gold. 5 colors but no green. Red and blue combined would give you purple though. Which is the color associated with the first album that has green mentioned.
Purple- Tom Collins
*not the cocktail made of gin, lemon juice, sugar and carbonated water.
->the genius teacher who still struggles to get by but says fuck it I’m gonna love who I want even though they weren’t blessed with much time they lived the time they did have out-loud and in love. And that’s beautiful.
->purple is associated with the 3rd album Speak Now. Essentially his character did speak up because he literally just stopped caring about anything else besides what made him happy, and isn’t that the point. Aren’t we supposed to find peace and happiness, we weren’t born to suffer.
Yellow-Maureen and Joanne
->the loud outspoken woman who isn’t afraid to be herself and the smart justice driven woman that is on the more modest end.
->Maureen played by Indina Menzel who joined TS on stage in Tampa on the 1989 world tour. Dressed as Olaf (TS) and Elsa they sang “Let it Go” on 10/31/2015.
*the speak now dress 1 of the 9 has been dubbed as “Elsa” it was last seen on 8/17/24
->is fearless gold or yellow? Well gold is a synonym of yellow. So they are connected, she just didn’t say that. Another word for yellow is Amber.
->The closet in the lover house has only yellow clothes in it.
Maureen and Joanne in the yellow box together makes me think a couple things..
It is showing the beauty in a relationship some other people might not understand
It is showing the beauty in an interracial relationship
It is showing the story of a woman who was once with a man but now loves a woman. A story that is often times silenced or looked down on.
Being a silent swiftie has allowed me to see each sides argument on the argument that shouldn’t exist in the first place. Her sexuality, thats what has gotten our country into so much hot water, we are trying to “fix the gay” or “straighten them out”. But in Taylor’s case I think these arguments are what could actually bring every one together, what if her sexuality is supposed to make sense from whichever angle you look at it.
Because there should be no wrong in love.
Just clicked, but when she climbs up into the attic and is watching a movie projected on the screen.. isnt that what Kanye rapped about, making a tape with her? Or is her “mind reeling”? Or this could symbolize one of the lyrics that has stood out more recently in La Vie Boheme Mark and Mimi sing together “Why Dorothy and Toto went over the rainbow to blow off Auntie Em.” Based on the album cover this is gray and blue, the lover house attic has a black and white film being played. Which symbolizes both of their characters and the life that a lot of people live, they will do anything to get by even if it isn’t a clean and honest way. No one said a days work is honest. Also does this mean that Dorothy was an unhappy orphan than was left to her aunt and uncle?
Gold/Yellow
GY= Gymnasium, Goodyear, golden year
GY=Graveyard ->LWYMMD music video, I will die on this hill: that music video opening scene is a landing strip with her initials in lights. But it transforms into a graveyard.
GY=Gray
One gray (Gy) is the international system of units (SI) equivalent of 100 rads, which is equal to an absorbed dose of 1 Joule/kilogram. An absorbed dose of 0.01 Gy means that 1 gram of material absorbed 100 ergs of energy (a small but measurable amount) as a result of exposure to radiation.
What does gy stand for in time?
Giga-year, 1,000,000,000 years (non-SI) Galactic year, the time it takes for the Solar System to orbit the Galactic Center.
*thats just a lot of zeros. (9)
If you mirror it, you get YG short for Young Gangsta. “I got two words for ya Love and Loyalty.”
-“Who Do You Love” ft Drake released on 2/20/2014. This song was initially leaked on 12/31/2013 after a fan impersonating a DJ tricked YG into emailing him the song..
“My Bank of America account got 6 figures”
*”Ride Out” -> Furious 7 4/3/2015. (Paul Walker died during the time this movie was being filmed. 11/30/2013. The date of his burial was 12/14/2013, the day after her birthday which was a Friday the 13th. It was her 24th birthday)
Maroon is a mix of:
