A strange tide carries itself across the ocean, rumors of abyssals seen near key water ways across the globe. A strange illness coming over shipgirls, causing hallucinations and nightmares. Abyssal activity is spiking, princesses and demons are seen to be making rather aggressive moves across all theaters of play. Its time to gather the fleet, Operation Aki commences!
Welcome to “Operation Aki” A Kancolle Community RP Event!
Hi and welcome to Operation Aki, an rp event for the kancolle community aimed at providing the community with a game like event/show series like operation/a common story goal for all of us to enjoy and play with. This event is open to all Kancolle roleplayers canon and OC, single muse and multi-muses. OCs and Non-Kancolle muses with Kancolle verses made are entirely welcome as well!
Operation Aki(meaning Fall for both it being a Fall time event, and the attempt and making certain locations fall to the abyssals) is a fictional, non-historically based operation that deals with a unified attempt to respond to four different abyssal incursions around the globe while the ship girl navies and districts deal with heightened abyssal activity elsewhere.
Admirals and Ship girls alike will have to join forces, find comrades, bond with their leaders and friends to sortie on the waves and battle back the abyssals. But there’s more to this than just setting sail and battling, there’s threats at home, lies and chaos being sewn among the nations. Muses alike will have to put their minds together to find out the truth behind the lies, plan out the best courses of action, and meet their targets head on before its too late.
What do I need to know to participate, it sounds like a lot of things I might need to learn?
All you need to know, is what muses you want to use. There are some plot points that have been built through various threads, but those will all be explained out for you to know. And not every option in this event will involve any of that, some are entirely stand alone pieces from the rest of the communities stories.
I will do my best to present everything in a very open format, Every option will have its down back with the back story behind it, its piece and important, and what that means to everyone.
Alright, so then how does it work?
Further below you’ll be presented with links for 4 different major operations to look into, each having their own mini things to keep an eye on. Each page will have what should be public muse knowledge, and well as the backstory, and some more ‘for the mun’ information about the operations.
After reading them all, you just need to send an ask/submit to the blog ranking them 1 to 4, your preferences and well as what muses you wish to use. Notice I say muses, a person can submit up to 3 muses for now, ranking them in preference. Please submit/sent an ask with what muses you wish to use as soon as you can, so you can be added to the participant list. Picking your event preferences can wait as things for that might change.
Muses can be ship girls, ship boys, admirals, good abyssals willing to work with the surface, mechanics, really anything. They’ll be placed as best as we can place them!
After that you’ll see a series of possible prompts, asks you can send the blog to get world information, muse information, and some hints and tricks for the side stuff. Along with those you’ll find a few other things you can use for some starters with other event participants (all of whom will be listed under the Operational Info link on the blog.)
Basically put for phase 1
Submit ranked preferences for Muses/locations.
Indulge in the offered event asks you can send in.
Bug people with the event starters/asks. Be brave but also be welcoming!
So what you’re saying is, get the preferences out of the way and indulge in the setting for a bit? Until what? Phase 2?
That’s exactly what I’m saying, this is meant to encourage you to meet as many others as you can for short threads, even if they’re just one or two replies. Because you never know who you’ll be sortieing with and to what location, heck you might not even know who is leading your fleet! So get out there, form some bonds no matter how big or small. And prepare!
Okay, but what’s the story then?
The story isn’t as confusing as you’d think it is. Basically put, we’ve a collection of bases in some troublesome times and a spike in general abyssal activity, we have a threat of some ambitious abyssals trying to take key human trading locations, a drug that if taken by a ship girl will make them hallucinate, a ship girl turned abyssal acting out, and a new gang appearing to cause trouble, all happening at the same time. With the navies over stretched, the admirals pulled between theaters, and ship girls running all over the place. To counter these impending threats, you’ll need to team up with a rag tag team and tackle the menace.
Oops did I say it wasn’t confusing, well it really isn’t. But its best you read each Location’s story for a more clear picture, as each location will have a different lore to it. All of it new stuff for everyone.
Alright then, give me the locations! And tell me if they’re newcomer friendly or not!
Alright alright, so here you are.
The Malacca Straits - This location’s story is very newcomer friendly, and very Canon friendly too as its closer to the series core setting - Its one of the two locations that deals with stopping the hallucination drug as well as stopping the abyssal fleet from claiming the strait. Its a defensive/mystery story arc.
The Danish Straits - This location’s story is very newcomer friendly, favoring OCs and Europe/Western ship girls. - Its the second of two locations that deals with stopping the hallucination drug as well as stopping a new abyssal menace from rising and taking the area. Its an offensive, search and destroy/mystery story arc.
The Rock, Malta, and The Suez - This location’s story is very newcomer friendly, equally favoring all OCs/Canon girls. - It centers around the abyssal admiral’s meddling, and the rise of an abyssal who’s existence will make you question what is right or wrong, while having to protect these three key Mediterranean locations. A grey ideological story arc.
The Panama Canal - This location’s story is very community built, so for new comers you might feel a bit, outside of the loop. - It centers around Toyako’s Jun’you, her turn to the abyss and her actions while being manipulated to take the Panama Canal. Its a retrieval of a friend story arc.
Note that, no matter what any of them say. If you like the story and want it to be your top preference, then by all means do it! We can make anything work! All you really need to know is what muse you want to use, and that you got some butt to kick!
Cool! How about those things we can send you, no way you’re allowed to be lazy!
Wow fierce! But here, some asks that you can send in for added information for you to use, to talk about, everything.
“Can I see the report about ‘x’?” - Send to get a report from an admiral that includes details about one of the locations you choose (replace the x with location.)
“What’s wrong with her?” - Send to get words from a nurse regarding the condition of one of the afflicted ship girls from the hallucination drug.
“What are you doing?” - Send for a small interaction with Warrant Officer Takazuchi, clearly not a suspicious man.
“Everything’s so busy here, what gives?” - Send to get an update on the situation of the navies in the world, and the activity level of abyssals. Note, answers will change as days progress. Its a good way to see how things are going, the higher the activity, the closer the event gets to phase 2.
“Is everything alright?” - Send to get some words from a very stressed girl trying to figure out a way to cure these hallucinations faster. Perhaps she might tell you of something she needs that might be found in phase 2.
“They’re just rumors, why’re you so worried.” - Send to get some words about the preparations being made for each ‘rumored’ location, perhaps even some key notes for you to take into the next phase to make its battle easier.
Alternatively, if you want to ‘prepare’ for your battles and operations. You can send the following in an ask once a day per mun(my time which is Pacific Standard time) for rewards. Rewards like supplies and repairs to be used in thread, or perhaps special items to help solve the mysteries.
Short Expedition + Location and Muse - Sending this will net you smaller rewards if you succeed. Tiny chance of special items. No Risk, Low Reward.
Medium Expedition + Location and Muse - Sending this will give you a bigger more consistent reward if you succeed, but no chance of special event items. Low Risk, Medium Reward.
Long Expedition + Location and Muse - Sending this has the greatest chance for large rewards and event items, but you risk failing, thus not losing everything, and possibly costing you thing you’ve earned. High risk, High reward.
Admiral’s review + Location and Muse - Can be sent by Non ship girls/boys, aka admirals, officers, mechanics, other personnel. Has a low chance of special event findings, and a low chance to gain rewards to be used by their fleet come phase 2.
Alright, and how about those asks for other event goers?
Greedy aren’t you. Really you can send anything to people who’re listed under the Event participants, just note that everything in the ‘public knowledge’ sections of the locations are usable as prompts and starters.
So things like the following are prime things to send to others. Just remember to specify which muse of theirs and yours you both signed up with, that you want to interact with if you’re both multi muses! Common sense stuff ya know?
“Did you hear about ‘x’ - x being location.”
“Have you seen ‘x’ lately, she looked unwell.” - x being a random girl sick.
“I heard there was a strange guy lurking around”
“The admirals are all over the place, do you know what’s happening?”
“Another sortie? Just how many do we have to deal with today!”
“Admiral, what’s going on here? Why’re the fleets so busy at ‘x’” - x being a location.
Things to talk about the locations and their public knowledge, all of them usable until phase 2 when you’ll be focusing on the ones you prefer. The above are ones you can only use, just some examples. Be bold, be reckless, have fun, and chat!
Alright, now what about you? What muses are you bringing into the fold.
A lot. To explain a bit more, I’ll be using a lot of muses new and old, to help broaden the NPCs you’ll interact with, the enemies you’ll see, and the people you might talk to. However I will also pick a small set to include in the Operational Info page along with everyone else as my characters for this.
Okay, that’s a lot of info. If we’re confused can we ask you anything anytime?
Yes you can, its a lot to take in and more in the location’s page. So ask away, if you’re at all concerned or curious, if you’re nervous and need some encourage, if you need anything just ask! Take your time to read and just, take it easy.
And I’ll do all I can to help and support you all.
Cheers and I hope in the coming weeks you have fun in Operation Aki Phase 1, and soon after that. Phase 2.
Remember to reblog this so everyone who wants to take part in a kancolle rp event will see it! New and old!
