Tell me about it. Having to watch flyboys who were half as good of pilots than me while I was stuck on the ground fixing their planes was torture.
Correct. Havenât gotten my class list and rosters yet, but I figure theyâre just letting me settle in a little bit first. I take it you teach as well?
I faced no such discrimination; however the KGB had a very different culture than the US military ever has.
Yes. Espionage, improvisation, mixed martial arts, ballet and languages.Â

This is what I am now.Â
And youâll never know who I was before.
i-punched-the-sky:
Sounds like youâve never been enlisted.
Pleasureâs all mine.Â
I was but I found it not to my liking.
So, Carol, youâll be teaching here, correct?
i-punched-the-sky:
Anyone else feel like your security clearance just went through the roof but you never got fully briefed on everything? Nope? Just me? Alright then
Carol Danvers reporting, howâs it going?
Not just you but then, I go and find the answers I need before long.
Natasha Romanoff. Itâs a pleasure.
(f2f) - Kitty & Natasha
prydeofthexmen:
When she entered her office, sheâd expected to find Bobby in her chair, not Natasha. Seeing the other woman there caused Kitty to freeze in the doorway and kink her eyebrow as if to ask what Natasha was doing in here but she got her answer quickly enough without having to verbally ask. âWhereâs Bobby?â was the first question to leave Kittyâs lips. Not that she didnât appreciate Natashaâs help and all that sheâd evidently done in Kittyâs absence but sheâd left her teammate in chargeâŠHe should of been the one to tell her this stuff.
âMostly,â she repeated the word back and there was slight amusement in it. This school had been broken and rebuilt so many times that Kitty had lost count. The building could be fixed but the trauma the students had experienced would take a lot longer. âI donât know all that happened but I know enough to say that no-one outside of these walls knows the Danger Room programme runs throughout the whole school. Have you any idea how it happened?â
Kitty wasnât a spy, she didnât know intel, her connections were not as vast as Natashaâs were and so any information she could get, she would take.
âAnd thank you. Thank you for looking after my students in my absence.â
That question didnât come as a surprise but still, Natashaâs lips thinned as she considered her response. âIâve seen very little of him since you and the others left. While I am sure heâs been tending to other business as the school is large and there was quite a lack in your absence, I cannot be certain as to where heâs busied himself.â It was honest without condemning, the best she could offer, even if her own thoughts had not been so kind.
Putting aside talk of Bobby or her thoughts on the matter, Natasha handed over her report. âI found the virus after it had already begun its work and everything I learned of it is in that report. While I donât know how Hydra knew about the Danger Roomâs potential, what I can tell you is that this virus was planted from the inside. If I had to guess, the traitor within these walls was also where they obtained that information.â
As a spy herself, Natasha had seen firsthand how hard such new could be. She hated to be the one to deliver it but that was simply how it had to be. âIâve combed through all public records and many private records on those who were here at the time of the attack and made a list of those possible suspects but, were it my choice, Iâd have one of the telepaths go looking. I know it violates privacy and freedom but Hydra is here on school grounds. That seems the quickest way to find them and root them out.â
Shaking her head, she answered, âDonât thank me. Had I been more vigilant, I could have caught this virus sooner, maybe even stopped it entirely.â
(f2f) - Kitty & Natasha
Natasha had spent much of the time while the headmistress was away handling the schoolâs business. Sheâd vetted several new students and processed their admissions. Sheâd handled the Hydra attack and aftermath as best as she could. Sheâd got classes started back up and handled substitutes for the courses that were possible to carry on in their professors absences. Really, sheâd gone above and beyond, despite her lack of support from what remained of SHIELD.
Still, this wasnât her job and so, when the headmistress returned to her office, the Widow couldnât help the sigh of relief. âItâs good to see you back,â Natasha greeted, getting up from Kittyâs chair. âI kept it warm for you. Kept the school in one piece too... mostly.â Certainly, Kitty had heard of Hyrdaâs attack, but either way, Natasha had a report ready for her in hand.

Avengers Assemble 2x23 âAvengers Last Standâ -Â Jul 26, 2015.
Announcement
stonerscienceisthebestscience:
I just have a few questions: If it happens again, how do we know whatâs fake and whatâs real? I can see someone all like âillusions canât hurt me!â and being shot by a very real bullet.Â
Also, shouldnât we turn off the danger room for good? Disassemble it or something?
If it were to happen again, if any sort of attack happens, we ought to assume it is entirely real until proven otherwise. Hydra attacked us before using very real soldiers and killed many. We need to be ever vigilant should they do so again in the future.
I do not believe that disassembling one of our greatest training tools and the only means of training for some of our students would be a wise decision. That having been said, such a decision will be in the hands of Headmistress Pryde when she returns to campus.
Announcement
As some of you have expressed concern over the incident the other day, I and some of the other professors felt it prudent to inform the student body of what we know. There was a computer virus that took control of the Danger Room and created the simulation that attacked us. All traces of the virus have been eliminated from our computer systems and security has been strengthened to prevent another such attack.
As has been pointed out, we need to stick together more now than ever. We have enemies in this world and they will use any weakness they can find against us. While some discord is to be expected among any group as large as this, please try to keep in mind that we are on the same side.
Nothing can take me and less keeps me there 'cause sleep it's a beast: polar and bare
Itâd had been nearly a week since the attack and Natasha was no closer to figuring out just how theyâd gotten in. Hydra had to have someone on the inside - at least one but probably more than that - and knowing that was only making it all the harder to reassure her students and to get things running back the way they ought to be in absence of so much of the faculty. Still, that didnât stop the Widow from doing her job.
Organizing with Professor IĂĄrnvidia, the sorceress had been able to clear away most of the debris and cover up most of the damage. Sheâd offered to do more, but Natasha had her hold off. The last thing they needed was to make it seem as though nothing had happened at all. For the students whoâd suffered through the fall of Armour and for the returning faculty, that would probably do more harm then good. Still, the hallways were passable and the classrooms usable, the dorms livable and building, for the most part, in tact.
Without the schoolâs psychologist, many of the students whoâd relived their trauma had to be handled by the few remaining professors. Natasha couldnât bring herself to handle that, but she was able to coordinate it at the very least. It was the best she could do, even if it was far from enough and, after so long had passed since the trip to Hell or Limbo or wherever the headmistress and company had gone, she was beginning to wonder if theyâd be coming back at all.
Of all the orders Natasha had from Fury himself, they hadnât accounted for this. Perhaps they should have, even if Fury and what remained of SHIELD was in no position to be doing so. There was always supposed to be a back up plan. Sheâd just gotten off the phone in Kittyâs office - somewhere sheâd spent a good bit of time in these past several days - and was trying to recenter, to plan out just what she hoped to accomplish today, when the door opened. Putting on her game face, she looked up to greet whoever waited there.
Itâs kind of ironic that those were the memories they gave me. I thought I was training to bring beauty to people. Now I kill them.Â
