Barely anyone even talks about Carmilla anymore. She's been reduced to "let's name this female character after her even though she will have nothing to do with the actual Carmilla story" (see: Castlevania, Hazbin Hotel)
As much as I adore the Carmilla WebSeries, it came out over a decade ago, and oh boy, you can tell. So instead of making yet another Dracula adaptation, why not show the lesbians some love?
I think that, in an age where vampires are becoming more mainstream again, and more explicitly queer, it would make perfect sense to get some famous director or other to introduce the story to a new generation (I would love for it to be a woman, but honestly I'll take anything at this point)!
