Do you ever feel like you don’t fit in in the fandom ever? I feel this a lot bc I don’t have many close friends in it and I feel like I’m always on the outside

I actually feel this all the time, constantly. I always feel a few beats behind the discourse or like I’m playing catch up and like I’m that person standing just on the edge of the huddle of creators, trying to awkwardly take part in the convos without having anything of value to say, so I’m just there, taking up space awkwardly 😂

Anyway, I think a lot of people feel this sometimes, and it’s not reality—it’s just our own self consciousness playing a role. Despite my own anxieties, this IS a fun fandom and it IS easy to make friends—it’s really as simple as just landing yourself in someone’s DMs. I’ve yet to meet anyone around here not eager to chat and strike up a friendship. And if you’re not up to that, then don’t worry—you’re not alone and I’m here for ya!

Everyone feels left out and alone, but believe me that you aren't! This fandom welcomes everyone and you will always be greeted with open arms! I know brains can be stupid things ,but don't listen to the stupid glob in your head. People here are very welcoming and will always enjoy someone joining in on the fun.

If you every feel hesitant to join in on something, don't be afraid to just jump in. Everyone here is very kind!

Where after complaining about his scars and emphasizing over and over that Potter wrecked his perfect skin, Pansy tells him to either go to a tattoo artist and get them covered or he can shut the fuck up because she’s heard the same damn story a million times since they were sixteen. Enough is enough.

Offended, Draco snatches the business card Pansy gave him and storms out. What does she know anyway? Her chest isn’t marred by scars. He reluctantly floos ahead to make an appointment before heading over to the parlour.

Scarrs.

The irony is not lost on him. He curses Pansy’s name and vows to get her back. Who names a tattoo parlour Scarrs? Sounds foreboding, definitely something that belongs in Knockturn Alley and not in the bright colourful shops nestled in Hogsmeade.

When Draco walks in and sees a familiar face, he promptly turns around to leave.

“No, wait!”

The sound of Potter’s voice confirmed that it wasn’t a hallucination, oh no, it was real. Like a bloody nightmare.

“Parkinson said you might stop by.”

“Did she now?” Draco said through clenched teeth as his hands followed suit. “You two been gossiping about me, have you?”

“No,” Potter said, tone pitched in confusion. It was enough to have Draco turning around. “She threatened me to not harm you, and that was it.”

Perhaps Draco liked Pansy a little bit. A tiny little minuscule amount that wouldn't overinflate her already ginormous ego.

“Not that I’d harm you,” Potter added with a slight smile that bordered on a smirk. “Much.”

“Yes,” Draco drawled slowly. “Because that makes me feel so much better.”

The smile grew and Draco hated that he was reminded of seeing the same smile across the Great Hall. Not directed at him before, no, never at him.

“You wanted a tattoo?”

Draco looked down at the ground. Why did it have to be Potter? Couldn’t it have been anyone else? Hell, he’d have taken Finnigan even knowing his penchant for lighting shit on fire. That was a risk he’d have taken as long as it didn’t involve Potter, of all people.

“Several,” mumbled Draco as he glanced up. “I have a lot of scars on my chest. Ones I don’t care for.”

He wasn’t sure what he had expected. An apology? Guilt? A grimace? But what he got instead was a tilted head and an intense look.

“I’m good at covering scars,” Potter said, eyes narrowing as the intensity increased. “They’re my speciality. Whether physical or emotional, I can cover them.”

“Well, then at least you aren’t a waste of my time.”

The intensity waned as expressive green eyes rolled. “Your mouth sure hasn’t changed over the years.”

“Oh, that’s where you’re wrong,” Draco winked before snorting at the way Potter flushed lightly.

i’m feeling sad so i’m gonna ramble about the european union and the armenian genocide so y’all learn something and i distract myself

so basically the european parliament is all like “we should recognize the armenian genocide as an genocide” and they did in 1987 but the commission and the council are like “mmmmmh idk man what about turkey they’re gonna be pissed” because turkey’s all like “it was not a genocide like maybe some fucked up shit happened but 1) that was the ottoman empire/the young turks 2) that was not a genocide” and the commission and the council are like “yeah whatever we like trading stuff and keeping refugees out and we need turkey for that” but as i said the parliament is kinda not having that although of course there are people who are like “yeah it’s not really the job of a political institution like the parliament to decide if this is a genocide or not that’s the kind of thing historians usually do” (we did and we decided it’s a genocide) and some who go “yeah the word we use for it doesn’t really matter what matters is that turkey and armenia become friends uwu”. then the parliament recognized the armenian genocide and they moved to the next step which is trying to get turkey to recognize it which turkey very much does not want to. some mep’s are like “yeah turkey should recognize it but it shouldn’t be a prerequisite for entering the eu remember all the good progress they’ve made” (bc turkey is a eu candidate member state) while others are like “ehm bitch human rights are kinda like a basic value of the eu if turkey doesn’t recognize this and we let them in our last shred of credibility will be gone”. that’s like the gist of the debate since 1987 and they still really didn’t decide but a lot of people are leaning toward “yeah turkey better recognize this or there’s a very small chance we’re letting them in” so they’re not like 100% making it a prerequisite but they actually are also turkey is kinda eh about being an eu member state rn anyway and most european citizens arent very enthusiastic about it either (which is also why a lot of mep’s are kinda like “mmmh are we sure this is a good idea”) so i’m not sure why they think having it as a prerequisite will mean anything to turkey also in 2015 they had this huge debate about the centenary of the genocide which basically went like this: “it’s tragic” “it truly is” “turkey should recognize it” “yeah they should” “why are we talking about this it’s not our job” “poor armenians” “turkey and armenia need to be friends again” anyways i guess that’s kinda it for now stay tuned for updates
