March to June 2021 - New Mayapur, Indre et Loire, France I spent 2 months in a Hare Krishna community from March to June 2021. The place was beautiful, a XIXth century French caste in the middle of 80 hectares of mostly forest and some farmland. The Hare Krishna movement is a branch of Hinduism that considers Krishna to be the Supreme and only God. The movement was founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada in New York City in the 1970s but its roots trace back to the Vaishnavist tradition of India. Here are some pictures of the place and of the murtis, the statues of different incarnations of Krishna that the devotees worship throughout daily, weekly and annual rituals and ceremonies.
June 2020 to August 2020 - La Réunion and Costa Rica For some reason I have a few pictures of very gnarly creatures. The last two are from Costa Rica, the others are from Reunion Island
September 2020 - Lama Foundation, New-Mexico So, after 2 weeks in Costa Rica, I made it to the US. I met up with Willow at the Lama Foundation, a beautiful spiritual center where she went to spend a year. Life decided that our paths had to separate there, but the trip was another beautiful experience. There is so much to learn everywhere I go on this planet!
August 2020 to September 2020 - Costa Rica Part 2 Have I mentioned that I love Costa Rica? And Hugo and Ka? It is such a beautiful country with friendly people and a laid back atmosphere. My first visit to a latin-american country and to a central-american country.
August 2020 to September 2020 - Costa Rica Part 1 I was pretty decided to go back to the US to spend some time with Willow again. The trick was to find a place to spend 2 weeks outside of Europe to be allowed to enter the US. So I decided to go visit my beautiful friends Ka and Hugo in Costa Rica. What a great decision! That trip was truly amazing thanks to their kind hearts, their generosity and how fun they are!
June 2020 to August 2020 - La Réunion Part 5 Hike at the Piton de la Fournaise, the famous active volcano of Reunion Island.
June 2020 to August 2020 - La Réunion Part 4 Another day in Reunion, another hike. Piton Fougère with Dad and Petra. And our friend Otarie who came out of nowhere and tagged along.
June 2020 to August 2020 - La Réunion Part 3 Daily life at home.
June 2020 to August 2020 - La Réunion Part 2 First hike at l’îlet à Guillaume with Dad and Petra. The trail starts... right behind our house.
June 2020 to August 2020 - La Réunion Part 1 In June, I flew straight back home to Reunion Island. No way I was going to spend a summer locked down in Paris. I was lucky enough to be completely free at the moment and I had better make the most of it. Reunion was wonderful, as always. My cat Pipo was still at the house, as cute and cool as ever. Sunsets were grand, flowers were colorful, the sun was shining, what more could I have asked for?
March 2020 to June 2020 - Fort Collins, Colorado Part 2 Colorado is quite incredible in the sense that the weather can be hot and sunny one day and the next day you find two feet of snow covering up everything. Life was very different from Paris indeed. Camping in the foothills of the mountains was probably my favorite experience. I loved the pine trees, the little creeks, the aspens groves, the red rocks and the occasional thunderstorm. Sweet memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
March 2020 to June 2020 - Fort Collins, Colorado Part 1 In early March of 2020, 3 days before Trump signed an executive order to effectively close the border between Europe and the US, I flew to San Francisco to meet up with Willow. Three days later, we went to her hometown of Fort Collins in Colorado. There, I spent 3 amazing months back in the country I had left 4 years before. The pandemic was just starting but life was fairly normal in Fort Collins and I was able to enjoy the outdoors, a treat compared to what my friends and family had to endure back home and in many other countries. Willow and her housemates Drew and David welcomed me into their house and their lives and I have to say I was extremely lucky, living my best life while millions of people were stuck at home or getting sick.
March 2020 - Paris The view from my apartment and a sexy selfie. These are the only two pictures I took during my five months in Paris. From September 2019 to February 2020, I was quite busy working in a famous cheese shop with 10 stores throughout Paris, practicing Muay Thai and yoga, writing my novel, hanging out with my siblings, working at a food coop, reconnecting with my French friends, visiting my family in Lorraine and falling in love with a special person from Colorado whom I had met during my travels.
June 2019 - Petra
One day in Petra. Even for a second visit, one of the most amazing places I have ever been to.
June 2019 - Wadi Rum Desert life part 2. Camels, tourists, jeep tours, sunsets and dust tornadoes.
June 2019 - Wadi Rum
Life in the desert, part 1. Sand, mountains, sand dunes, sandstone, sand in your shoes, dust, goats, tents, jeeps and more sand.
