this is media from an instruction booklet that’s made for devon hendryx’s the ghost pop tape.

the ghost pop tape is a mixtape made by devon hendryx that was released in october of 2013. it would b devon hendryx’s final album before releasing music under the moniker of JPEGMAFIA. it also seems to serve as some sort of a suicide note almost, seeing as devon noted that if he didn’t see success off this release, he would kill himself. it takes influence from a multitude of genres and sounds including but not limited to: ambient, bedroom pop, hip-hop/rap, electronic, etc. it seems to serve as his magnum opus, whilst being ahead of its time. many fans compare it to frank ocean’s endless, which would release two years after tgpt. gladly for us and him, devon would see near success with the JPEGMAFIA name. i’m genuinely so glad that he got the success he wanted, i don’t really know who i’d be without his music as an influence on my own music and my life as a whole. everybody should give the ghost pop tape a listen, it’s one of the most moving projects i’ve ever heard. <3
