i am doing this thing where i am asking people to talk about the things they blog about, and just watch them go off in passion. so please tell us about John Lovett.
oh wow, where to start about Jon Lovett, aspiring chef soon-to-be-on-BA (this only exists in my dreams don’t @ me). I think my favorite description of him is from Whitney C, when she said that he’s so direct and so obsessed with justice..I love a person like that! A short list of things I really like about Lovett:
- how he talks about Pundit and how obvious it is that he loves her and she loves her human!!!
-when he had 1000 texans calling for gay sex in a marvel movie (honestly this is kinda what dragged me into the fandom even though I’d been listening to PSA for ages)
-the time he ranted on LoLi about how the struggle for gay rights is not over, in response to a stupid ass article in the Atlantic (100% my favorite rant)
-him helping a crooked intern with their stats homework-you love to see it! I also love that he majored in math. don’t ask me why, I just do.
-the fact that he went to the white house where he had an actual important job, in a darwin t-shirt and an electric scooter
-he performed the first gay wedding in the White House . Literally cannot listen to him talk about “I mean that’s why marriage exists” without tearing up.
-how incredibly funny and smart he is. I have no links for this-he is just so funny and so smart (for a visual example look at any livestream/video and specifically at jon and tommy’s faces when Lovett makes a joke).
-the fact that he wrote (or finished??) his speech to apply for the WH speechwriting job on a Bolt bus fbdkfdsfvv jon
-how much his friends seem to love him (Tommy going it’s rewarding (!), jon’s never regretted it for a day (!!), his entire friendship with Emily, etc etc etc)
-HIS RANT ABOUT ASTROLOGY
-“he is pugnacious and morally indignant”-clearly he was a big source of support to Ronan when he was reporting on HW and beyond (also everyone should read Catch and Kill, it is a fantastic, important book)
-every time he ranted about NBC or defended the Farrows (way too many instances to count)
-we stan a person who immediately ctrl+f’s for their name in a book their partner wrote
-I’ll end with the fact that watching him cook has been the most fun i’ve had all quarantine and I hope he keeps doing it (I also hope he buys some non plastic spatulas, come on lovett)
In conclusion, Lovett is like a real world Josh Lyman and no I will not be taking any questions on that
