âBecause people are stupid,â Isabela said simply. Â âPeople are stupid, and they will find things, and they wonât know what they are, so theyâll hold onto them. Â And instead of selling them, which they should, they will keep them and try to sell them for dirt cheap, because they donât think theyâre worth anything more than that. Â Because theyâre stupid. Â An intelligent thief would know how to find a buyer. Â But if an intelligent thief had stumbled onto your artifact, you would likely already have it back, as he may have found you, and youâd have already killed him and reclaimed it.â
The thieves that Isabela had met since sheâd been in Kirkwall were far from the caliber of thieves that sheâd gotten used to dealing with in Rivain or Antiva. Â She once stumbled onto a man in Darktown who sold her a sovereign from the Exalted age for a mere twenty silver. Â The coin itself was worth over three hundred times what she paid to the man. Â She drank well that night.
"You-" She paused for a moment. "make an interesting point." She had to admit, this woman wasn't the average run of the mill whatever she was like the commoners  she had run into in Kirkwall. "Then perhaps you can aid me on my search, I do not like having to rely on others for help, but I'm afraid I may have to, as my time here is limited."
