"I think, in our formative years, we came from a place and we learnt so much together, we absorbed so much together, and we created so much together, that without Peter in my life, it's almost like no one can understand my language. [...] We kind of... we created our galleon, and so if either of us abandon it, we're bereft of a galleon."

The energy, which I can only describe as sexual, radiated from the stage. Doherty and Barat gave it their all, circling each other, crashing into each other, singing cheek to cheek, nose to nose together into a single microphone, flirting and raving with each other. It was a combination of attraction and repulsion, combined with fantastic music. It was exciting, dangerous, thrilling. And, because of their raw, impetuous love, also touching.
From a Dutch review of the Libertines Hyde Park gig in which the author reminisces about the band and a gig she saw at the beginning of 2003.
bonus quote about gigs where she saw them seperately:
In the years that followed, I saw the gentlemen more often, but it never even came close to that concert at Vera Groningen. The energy was lacking, the sex was missing.
