How fast are the slomen when running?

Because I feel like their legs don't look like that for no reason /vpos

It's a little hard to measure

I would say they can reach around 60 km/h by a trained sloman. Hunters and soldiers are most likely to reach the top speeds, both with the purpose of slaying down prey/opponents. Modern sport running as we know it isn't common, but most cultures will value a good runner. They have the extra use as herders, messengers, and show-offs. While humans are a lot taller than a regular sloman, their legs are much more similar in length when stretched out. Though compared to a human, slomen have the more traditional runner build with much of their mass in the front. They are definitely better at high speed bursts than long sustained running, but that doesn't mean they don't have stamina.

I think it's good to add, slomen do a lot of work that humans give to animals themselves. Due to their build, but also their social structure, it's seen as more convenient to have a family member herder/tracker, etc., than having to train a whole other animal that can't even communicate. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule; some animals have what slomen don't, and those animals are of great value.

I would say the average adult sloman that does some physical labor will be much closer to the speed of 40 km/h, which is still +10 kms faster than the average athletic human.

They might be better at running in a straight line with all that mass upfront having to move to change direction, but having long arms and a spine that has solid left/right motion, I would say they can drift pretty well. Additionally, one might see runner slomen wearing something like a fin/fan on their arms to give them more surface to push against the air. Something like the shields of Ciwan soldiers (those guys I feel need redesigning).
