Well wasn’t this just lovely. 

While her time here hadn’t been counted day for day, Monaka supposed she’d been here a while, and apparently they were rewarded for time spent in the city. After a month, she received a phone and now yet another gift stood before her. She’d been given a scooter by the scientists and there it sat in front of the orphanage. 

Really, a scooter. Had they not seen a problem with that?

Were they playing a joke on her now? It wasn’t even something she could despair over, it was just a waste of space-- did the orphanage even have a garage? The girl really had to figure out what to do with the damn thing. Maybe she could sell it, or even give it to someone in hopes they’d fall off and seriously hurt themselves. That’d be nice

❝If Monaka had never met Nee-chan, then surely it would be worse than dying! She’d still not understand how things should really work and how wonderful the despair she felt back then was, and then nothing she has worked so hard to accomplish would have come to be!❞

❝Nope. Everything Monaka does is something Monaka wants to do, and all for her cause. People say killing is wrong, that crimes aren’t good and that’s what children like Monaka are taught, but those things are what Monaka enjoys the most— why would she ever view it as wrong?❞

❝People always crowd around Monaka, only the best of people. That’s why Monaka got her Ultimate title in the first place. It is a useful talent too, since interesting people can be useful to Monaka in future— she can’t say she particularly dislikes it.❞ 

5. Would you or have you ever killed? What would drive you to kill?

❝Mm, of course she has. That’s the best way to inflict despair on others, be it by killing them or by killing a loved one—  that’s the only reason for it though. Despair. It is always fun to see the look on their face. But, since Monaka is at a disadvantage, she usually has people kill for her like back home.❞ 

8. Should all people be treated as equal, and have the same rights?

❝Huh… It doesn’t matter what social standing a person has since they will all fall and die in the end, right? Status doesn’t matter in Monaka’s world anymore either, not since Nee-chan’s plan succeeded. But, if you really want an answer, Monaka doesn’t mind either way since everybody can succumb to despair, regardless if they are an ordinary person or a princess!❞

❝Why would Monaka have any need to doubt what she was taught by Nee-chan? The idea of favoring hope of all things over despair is something that makes Monaka feel ill— despair is far more rewarding and much more fun. Monaka isn't one of those people who keeps switiching sides.❞

20. What would you like to achieve before you die?

❝Despair. Nothing really beyond that. Stopping the Future Foundation would be good too, since they're so bothersome. Trying to undo what Nee-chan has achieved before her death is unforgivable, you know.❞
