I received word from Bonnie Lashin that a regular contributor to Unseen Portland, Paul DiBiase, recently passed away. I’m thankful for the opportunity to have viewed Portland through the lens of Paul’s camera, and for the opportunity to have helped to share his vision with all of you. RIP Paul. You’ll be missed.
Paul DiBiase died peacefully at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House on Jan 27, 2016. He was my best friend and loving life partner. He also had many friends and family who loved him. I honor him and the beauty of his photographs.... HAPPY VALENTINES DAY PAUL
Love Forever, Bonnie

Earlier this week I was informed Mark Norton, a regular contributor to Unseen Portland, passed away. While I never met Mark personally, his photo Summer Gasps! is easily one of my favorite images from the entire run of Unseen Portland.
Paul DiBiase, who considered Mark his best friend, wrote this in remembrance:
Mark Norton, aka Birdman, has recently died. I know him as a best friend but thousands have known him since. He was husband to Ellen-He was father to Justin; He was a son- a brother- a Teacher- a student of photography- his was a life fully lived, a story of dreams fulfilled. He was unique. I'm Happy he had such a life. We're all so sad to see him go.
Below is a link to his blog: PortCityDailyPhoto
Mark’s service will be held Saturday, Oct. 24th at the Jones, Rich, and Hutchins Funeral Home (199 Woodford St., Portland). Visiting hours are from 10-12, and the service will begin at noon.
RIP Mark. You’ll be missed.
