Just eyes locked downward at the dead grass and the tendrils of Marlboro smoke coming from the ashtray. There were more words, explanations and backpedaling but they were all drowned out. Because when a tree falls in the woods even when there's no one around to hear, it does make a sound. It thunders and splits the silence of the forest with the unmistakable crack of something ancient and beautiful and whole splintering into pieces. Even when there's no one around to hear it, even when the axman himself slides shut the door to a beat up gold van, faces forward and doesn't look back. And the tree waits while the forest does all it can do, regrows.

I need some resolution in my life, so I decided to make new month resolutions for November. I have learned recently that I can do much more than I originally thought, now I don't feel afraid of disappointing myself by writing out goals. I want to challenge myself and I want to move toward who I want to be everyday, inch by inch.
