There’s an uptick in his heart rate, and Simon can physically feel the pump in his upper chest working harder. Is it nerves? Perhaps.

He’s never kissed anyone before...but there’s something about Connor --

“Please, you must forgive me.” he says, though he leaves no explanation as he steps forward. Their lips touch in the softest, gentlest of kisses - barely a kiss at all, if not more of a simple meeting of synthetic skin.

But it’s soft, and its intimate, and when Simon breathes in, he feels a flutter in his chest. 

It’s not much, but hopefully it’s enough.

Hey I hate this question.

I think because deep down that’s what he actually thought. And I’m not just saying that either. 

Well, not really mad. I think just...he’s not sure HOW Markus will respond, or if he’ll even care at all.

Which is kind of heart breaking. Simon literally doesn’t realize what he means to people.

Simon will always sacrifice himself if he deems it necessary. There's never any deliberation. Especially for his friends, and most especially for Markus - the Canon love of his life.

He would give up anything, as we've seen, to make sure Markus continued on. He even canonically gave up his heart.

And sometimes I sit here and think about it and it hits me so hard. He never hesitates. He might be sad and scared, sure. Who wouldn't be? But he doesn't hesitate.

Markus will live. He will ensure it. If he has to rip the beating heart (re: thirium pump regulator) out of his abdomen and put it in Markus' to do so.

He'll sort of live on in a way, then. His regulator will keep Markus' heart pumping. Together their hearts will be one.

But God don't talk to me about the look he gives Markus right before he's shot at the freedom March.

That boy is so irreversibly in love and so irreversibly self sacrificing.

Markus, please love him. He's so good.

A tiny coo escaped the equally tiny tot as she took notice of her daddy, big brown eyes looking up at him as she took slow steps over toward him. While Lucy had been fairly distracted by one of her toys just a moment ago, she was far too interested in seeing was Simon was doing to continue on with that. "Da!" She called to Simon, in an attempt to get his attention.

Simon’s attention was on his little girl immediately. He swooped down and picked her up from the ground, holding her up close to his shoulder and flashing her the happiest, brightest smile.

“How’s my princess? Aside from beautiful and gorgeous, as always.”
