"I’m sorry too," Kougaiji replied softly, he should have known that for someone like Yaone, it would make her feel worse not better for him to help her out. But it was too late to do anything about it now, he’d just have to be more careful in the future.

It didn’t take the demon prince long to have all the broken pieces of the cup picked up and all of the spilled liquid to be soaked up, throwing everything away and then sitting down at the table as he waited for the tea to be ready. He thought that maybe it would be nice to sit down and have some tea with her before he set back to work on finding the scriptures.

"Ah? No, you don't have to apologize." Her face tinted red as she set down the cups and returned to her own seat. She had to admit, she was happy. Even if she felt bad about having him clean up after her, she was still happy that he was looking out for her. Clumsy mistakes like this could be quickly washed away. The woman couldn't help but let the smile spread as she sat with her head bowed.

It was nice. The shared moment. It was relaxing in comparison to being alone and worrying over the prince's safety. Well, she had Lirin so she wasn't technically alone. It still made her feel somewhat depressed the fact that Kougaiji and Dokugakuji took care of everything on their own without needing her assistance in the matter. "Um..." She tried to think of a casual conversation to hold but failed. In the end the cup of tea was lifted to her lips and she took a long draw of the liquid.

This Weak Self

“Aah? Kougaiji’s personal apothecary?” Zenon repeated curiously, reaching for another stick in the pockets of his jacket. The one and only son of the sealed Gyumaoh? “You mean Gyumaoh’s kid?” If he was, then what were the odds that the fallen god would happen upon someone close to him? Today was sure turning out to be an interesting day he mused as he lit the end of the cigarette and proceeded to inhale deeply.

Exhaling to form a cloud of smoke, Zenon listened as reddish brown eyes continued to survey the damage. Once she was done, his gaze shifted back over to her unsteady form. “Sounds like you’re policing them, then.” Though, how she glanced at the bodies told a lot more. “Don’t you have minions to take care of things like that? It’s a waste of your time, if anything.” Zenon found it rather odd someone so high in the rankings would have to take care of menial things like this. Heck, if it wasn’t for her, he would’ve done it himself no questions asked.

"That's correct." Her hand slipped a little, smearing the blood along the shaft of the weapon. Despite the obvious pain she seemed to keep her expression calm and keep herself steady. How much lood was she losing now? She tried not to let the her concern show. The woman placed a slightly forced smile on her lips.

It was odd. He seemed rather relaxed around the idea of death. Carefully she began to examine him again. "It's not that!" Her hands waved quickly releasing the weapon in the process. For a moment she wobbled and landed on her rear end. For a moment she winced and took a shaking breath. Finally she situated herself slowly that no pressure was being put on her injured leg. "It's not that we're policing them... I just... hear things." She mumbled sounding embarrassed. Well it was more the case she actively was gathering information on a regular basis.

"I can't stand the thought of them doing such things in Lord Kougaiji's name." She wrapped a hand around her waist. The suggestion took her aback for a moment. She supposed she could have had someone ele do this in her stead. "But if I did that, then it would be asking someone else to stain their hands as if I were too afraid to do something for myself. It's not right to push it onto someone else when I'm capable of the task."

Fandom: Saiyuki

Reason for Being Hated: Weak, useless, cannot fight for herself, gets in the way of Gojyo/Hakkai, Dokugakuji/Kougaiji.

She’s an expert pharmacist

Do you know what those guys do or how hard that kind of work is? She also knows her herbs like knowing the back of her hand. She makes her own explosives and poisons mind you. That kind of shit ain’t easy peasy. 

A mother role for Lirin

She takes care of Lirin like she was her own little sister or daughter. This chick knows how to cook, clean, keep the other two men in line, make medicine by her hands and it works! She is very loyal too and not afraid to get her hands dirty. 

Very good with a spear

So this cancels out the haters saying BS like: ‘Cannot fight for herself’. She did well against Hakkai in their first encounter. She took the stealth route and she wasn’t being obnoxious about it like most other youkai like to do. 

She knows her stuff

Not just talking about medicine, bombs, poisons. I’m talking about she is ALWAYS the one to inform Kougaiji things. She knew about Ensui, Zakuro betraying them, where the sanzo party is going and etc. She does this all without the help of a tracker and a laptop, which Dr.Ni has. 

Let’s see if I got this covered enough. She’s strong, physically and mentally. She’s well informed, very knowledgeable on what’s going on, and knows how to cure the flu faster than the typical flu medicine. She got a spear, make bombs on hand, poisons, gasses and loads of nature like weapons. If you ever pick a fight with her surrounded by nature, you are totally fucked. 

While it may be a cute ship if it was Hakkai X Yaone. She made it very clearly and many times, she is devoted to Kougaiji. And Hakkai has no intention or showing ANY intention to be in any romantic relationship after Kanan. The poor guy is still broken about it. I would be too.

Kougaiji X Dokugakuji is never happening in canon. They’re brothers. Not by blood but Doku made it clear too that he’s devoted to Kougaiji. Both men can’t live without Yaone either. Just like the sanzo party, they have made themselves a happy family all on their own. 

If no one wants to read ALL of that. I’ll make it short and sweet. Yaone is one badass chick that will and can very well lay the smack down on anyone that stands in her way. Better watch out what you eat in your next meal. You won’t know what’s coming.

A few other things that would be good to note. Yaone saves Kougaiji from a boulder, and uses her own body to shield and protect him. She also quite obvious has high levels of respect among their group. And in the anime there are a good number of times she assists the Ikkou as well. There's also the willingness to give her life for Kougaiji.

With the cannot fight, not only is she good with spears, she does a lot of tactical work, and on top of that she makes bombs, explosives. And during one episode I believe in Reload. She even makes pesticide bombs that save EVERYONE since they are unwilling to kill normal people, and even Lirin when she gets possessed by the bugs.

Saying she gets in the way of ships is the most pathetic reason to hate a muse, but here. Why don't I help discredit that.

IN CANON Q&A:

[QUESTION]: I’m going to cut to the chase and ask. Who do you like better, Hakkai or Kougaiji-sama?

[Yaone]: Wwwwwwwwwwwwwwhat are you saying?!! Kougaiji-sama is my precious lord, of course I adore him. But it certainly isn’t a r-romantic love……! Hakkai-san is one of the Sanzo Ikkou, our sworn enemies, so how could I l-like him…… Ah, I do see that he is a very polite, good person, but…… that is to say, um…

So, unless you're saying she's with Doku or Gojyo, then she really isn't getting in the way. Unless Kougaiji stops viewing the Ikkou as enemies, she would never get in the way of Hakkai/Gojyo. And while I personal ly strongly ship her with Doku, she doesn't get in the way of that shieither. In fact Doku's death probably gets more in the way of that ship than Yaone does.
