Girlies, the new Hozier single just dropped. Time to go collectively insane!
The Gold
"I love your golden eyes
Golden butterflies
With fluttering wings lighter than air
So delicate they might tear
Old, used book pages turn gold
I love the yellow stain truth be told,
It reminds me a story lies in those pages
Not just of fiction, but of ages"
Snippets of an original by me :)

âI wanna be the broken love song that feeds your misery, and I can wish all that I want, but it won't bring us together. Plus I know whatever happens to me, I know it's for the betterâ - Waiting Room, Phoebe Bridgers

In the distant future, my favourite book is going to be in a second-hand bookshop, and the person who picks it up will see all that Iâve underlined and wonder about me. Theyâre gonna wonder about the stranger who felt so moved by a book they had to mark it. Theyâre going to feel connected to me somehow because we both chose this book or because this book chose us in a way.
some of my favourite books from this year + annotations
but i donât feel so different now to how I felt on christmas eve, or on christmas day, or on any other day since the christmas holidays started. iâm back now and itâs another year. nothing is going to happen

"I'm worried we are entering an age of rage, where only anger will be considered an asset and the gentle will be mocked, then eaten. Those with soft voices will have their tongues cut out, as punishment for not using them the right way. Don't you know your words are weapons, kindness is obsolete, as obsolete as handwriting, as obsolete as silence and darkness in a city."
Rage - Florence Welch

âWe were romantics. We didnât just read poetry, we let it drop from our lips like honey.â
- Dead Poets Society (1989)

âI look at people holding hands in the hallways, and I try to think about how it all works. At the school dances, I sit in the background, and I tap my toe, and I wonder how many couples will dance to "their song." In the hallways, I see the girls weanng the guys' jackets, and I think about the idea of property. And I wonder if anyone is really happy. I hope they are. I really hope they are.â - the perks of being a wallflower by stephen chbosky
âI sit there, stewing in guilt because I am a terrible friend and a terrible person who gets jealous of my best friend for being everything I wish I was. Confident. Outgoing. Happy.â
- Tori Spring, Solitaire
I am a balloon.
Destined to forever float
after being let go
because a child lost interest
or
simply found something better.
The child doesnât even notice
and when they do just shrug and think
âIt was only a balloonâ
