If we are lucky, like really REALLY lucky, we have a sister who is more than a sister. We get a sister who's a soulmate, shenanigans partner and best friend. We get a sister who knows everything (the good, bad and the ugly) about us and is still our biggest cheerleader/fan. Like any other relationship, it takes work, mutual love, respect, honesty, authenticity and an investment of time and emotions. The end of September and October were rough. After my 10K I fell off the wagon...and I fell hard. Maybe it was the change of season, maybe it's all the nasty energy vibrations going out into our universe because of this fu%#ing election. In the interwebs and in real life I have been confronted with some very personal and very hurtful/offensive/harmful world views. It has really shown me people through a new lens (a lot of times one that isn't so pretty) and the reality of that hit me harder than I was prepared for. Because crying at cute kids/puppies in you tube videos and bing watching multiple shows on Netflix is NOT a realistic way to try to achieve mental stability and fill my cup, I'm back on the running train and signed up for a MN December 5k. ❄️❄️ I'm working toward reconnecting my mind with my body and connecting my breath to the beautifully awesome earth around. Just putting one foot in front of the other. Each step a reminder that I am strong. I am capable. Reminding me that running is a super power.
