💖👧🏼👦🏽👧🏿🧒🏾 Raising thoughtful, informed, empowered, compassionate, empathetic children help guarantee a peaceful future for all.... #Repost @raisingimagination ・・・ A few months ago I reflected on how we as parents can teach our children that activism is much more than marching in an article I wrote for @sheknows (linked in my bio). . Generally speaking, Activism is concentrated campaigning with the goal of social or political change. Important components of activism include: . ▪️listening to viewpoints that are different from your own, ▪️communicating frequently with elected representatives, ▪️taking leads from those around us who are silenced or marginalized (both historically & presently), ▪️disrupting the status quo, ▪️showing up when injustices arise, ▪️standing in solidarity with others when basic human rights are threatened and ▪️speaking up and out for those whose voices are silenced by systemic systems of oppression. . But what does all that look like for small kids who spend the majority of their time bickering over Cheerios and gold fish portions? . It looks like imagination. . Read the full article linked in my bio, and join me as we raise imaginations for a more just and loving world....both in our homes and in our world. What’s at stake if we don’t? .
