Chapter 576
Yeah this moment in the chapter hit me like a flying brick to the face. It's so simple but these kind of moments get me. I'm weak, I regret nothing.
First off, look at this wonderful image.
I love the bow, it's one of my favortie weapons in general. I always just tip over like an iceberg whenever I see one. It's huge, bigger than himself!
Moving onto to the "OH MY HEART" Seriously.
To sum up this arc, I guess. Baam was forced into a marriage proposal by the family of the Bo Pia Family head, Traumerei. He wants to make Baam his sucessor to the family so he tries to bind him by marriage into his family. Baam essentaily, turns into his prisoner. Not allowed to leave without his permission, has to follows his orders, ect. It's cruel.
You know what, to sum up this summary. Let me just say, Tower of God is a good title since it sums up the story perfectly. But so would 'Fighting for my freedom'. This is literally what Baam is doing the entire story.
First, before the story begins, he was all alone for who knows how many years in a dark cave, before he met Rachel. He got out of the cave, made friends, started climbing the tower.
Got betrayed by Rachel and turned over to FUG. Where he spent more time isolated in another dark cave alone, being forced to become a weapon/god to the evil organization. This lasting for 6-7 very traumatic years for Baam.
And over several chapters of the webtoon to now. He has been fought over to be used as a tool by the ten families. Like Gustang and Traumerei. Weaponized by FUG to defeated Zaghard. Killed for being a highly potential threat. Being a vessel. Someone who could turn the tide of the war. Or to change or defy fate itself.
I mean seriously, how he is still standing just amazes me. The sheer amount of times his friends have been used as hostages, punching bags, or threats to manipulate him, is just insane. Everytime I think Baam has made a breakthrough to freedom or happiness that lasts more than a day, something awful happens and I'm like ...... OH SON OF A--- . Let him rest!.
So anyway, back to the summary.
Khun makes a deal with Family heads, Gustang and Traumerei. Whoever wins the match gets Baam. Traumerei tells Baam if wants to leave, he should do it by his own strength. After the team leaves, Traumerei unleashes a ginmormous beast that destroyed an entire family branch(or somthing like that).
Opening for his shot, Baam sympathizes with the beast.
He shares the pain of being trapped by the family head.
And here I am thinking. Yeah, Baam was undoubtably engaged being forced into the marriage, locked away, seprated from his friends, and forced to follow horrible orders from the family without any knowledge as to why.
With this in his mind
Baam chooses to free every single beast and monster trapped by the family head, just as he was. He is fighting for his own freedom with everything he has and it still feels like it's never enough as the same kind of people repeat the same acts to manipulate him over and over. But choosing freedom for those monsters, knowing what it's like was a truly beautiful moment.
Okay Bye.
