At first, they were talking. About random shitthat didn’t matter as he popped a cigarette between his lips, promptly lighting it with a match.He flicked the match on the ground and stompedit in with his boot.

“You shouldn’t litter,” He heard her say.It was playful, in the least, but he didn’t care.

In response, he merely shrugged, holding outthe cigarette between his fingers and exhalingout the smoke. Speedwagon had offered her oneand she refused. ‘Your loss’ - whatever. Theycontinued on with their useless talk. Not wantingto puff smoke in her face, he didn’t directly faceher, though he gazed at her from the corner ofhis view.

She was nice, with her flirting and her sultry voice.Pretty, too. The rat never indulged himself in sillyromances, one night stands. It just- was never him.Though he was fine with everything else. Lookingat her, he smiled.

One last drag from the cigarette before he threw it tothe ground. Now, he could directly look at her. Hekept his hands tucked in his pockets, giving her fullattention.

Cue silly cliched somewhat romantic staredown oftwo people. He leaned down, just slightly, not wantingto do anything uncalled for. Especially somethingthat would give him a slap across the face. He wasnervous, at best. Searching for any signs of disaprovalbefore he gently, but firmly, took hold of her shouldersand leaned closer. His heart beating out of his chest oncehe pressed his lips against hers. His face was red and hot.

Yet he still wasn’t at a total lost of control.In some aspects, he had consciousness.Though that mattered little as his hungerwas a tad stronger than his humanity atthis point. What humanity? Even if he werenot physically a snarling beast, he stillhad little morality to offer in this world.

His urge was to devour, but he himself, wouldnot allow it. She was innocent! A stranger!Like most of his unsuspecting victims of hisusual crimes.
