great, now I have another possible adam that I already bought the skin for. this one is moon/chocolate/phthalo.
hoonneessttllyy though... the tundra is better, I think. the eyes for one is a huge improvement, and adam’s hair in the movie is majestic AF.
Constellation came out, which means I can update my Adam fandragon! I’m still kind of torn on him. On the one hand, I love the accent, bought it specifically for him, but a skydancer just... doesn’t feel completely right? I think I’m mostly disappointed that the eyes are so small. Adding eye items helps... a little? I was poking around with various combinations and I think a male fae might be better, but I didn’t see any decent, space-y accents on the AH. Maybe there’s a perfect one out there, but it’d probably be waayy too expensive. On the plus side, i’ve decided underbelly matches better than glimmer, so that saves me a few gems.
Still trying to settle on Nigel. I like the first design I came up with, but I’m disappointed I couldn’t come up with something to represent the dog shirt - none of the blues were quite right.
I should probably start searching for dragons to start their breeding projects. Hopefully it won’t take me over half a year like Will and Hannibal did!
I may not be able to write fic today (for SOME REASON) but I sure as hell just bought the absolutely perfect accent for an Adam fandragon.
so i guess I’ll be spending the rest of the night figuring out his genes (and come up with a matching Nigel. on the one hand, it would so not be worth the money to get his tattoo custom made. on the other, he’d feel incomplete without it. ☹️ )
Okay, back on the proper blog.
Current WIP toward figuring Adam out. The colors are being based on the spacesuit scene, because that is Peak Adam for me. Glimmer definitely gives the right look, although I’m debating whether I should go for a darker blue so it more closely matches the accent?
The wings I think I want constellation for. Starmap just doesn’t look right for me for the primary. and white basic is too bright, so right now I’m going with moon.
hmm.
some more fiddling:
Sapphire looks a lot better as the tert. and crystal looks the absolute best for the primary. it lightens the moon up to almost-white without being as flat looking.
So! that makes Adam a water flight, moon crystal/umber constellations (safari in the meantime)/ sapphire glimmer skydancer.
Now for nigel… oh boy, this is a lot harder than I thought.
I sort of wanted to leave the possibility open for commissioning Nigel’s neck tattoo (even though it’d be SO SMALL but whatever) but the majority of male dragons who showed the right side of their neck just did not work for me. I fiddled with a guardian for a while, but most of the terts that I liked ended up covering his neck ANYWAY so whatever, going back to my gut instinct for a coatl.
sunshine starmap/obsidian noxtide/obsidian underbelly + black sclera
I knew I wanted Nigel to be sort of golden in color, and starmap actually looks pretty good for him + adds a little dot to his forehead for, y’know. noxtide adds a perfect tinge of red for his bloody past. so he ends up more like, representative as for how I feel about him as a character (like Hannibal did) than a specific callback to any one look. (although I DID experiment with the light blues to see if any gave a colorful effect like the dachshund shirt, but no luck.)
(allssoo I absolutely love spacedog fics that have Adam call Nigel “sunshine” because he calls Adam "star.” It’s the cutest.)

Wow, I am... a special sort of idiot. I’ve been scroll flipping all week since shadow has dom and.... have been selling ghost scrolls at a loss this entire time. I must have.. mistyped the initial price, I guess?? And since they sold so well & quickly, I just never stopped to think there was probably a reason they sold so much better than any of the other genes.
i cannot believe I did that. oh well - at most, it ends up being a loss of 12k or so. Not a huge deal. I hope the people that snagged the 135k ghost genes were happy, at least. xD

I didn’t base their outfits on any look in particular from the show. They’re more… just representative in general, I guess? And I have no excuse for Will’s wing and tail flowers - they’re just pretty.

Thanks for the heads up! I managed to snag it earlier in the day. It popped up a lot sooner than I expected it to. lol I expected the wait to be five times more painful than when I was hounding the marketplace for apparel.

I bought some new fodder breeders the other day and felt compelled to dress them up. Polistes (tundra) ended up looking like some kind of forgotten priest statue. Lepido (bogsneak) looks... mildly deranged, in a LSD kind of way, and Ptera (pearlcatcher) just looks baller. She needs that black sylvan dress, I think.
Latest fandragon breeding attempt, they only laid a 2 egg nest. siiigh.
I’m annoyed because the last nest, there one of the hatchlings was only ONE color off of being perfect. I’m not gonna get that lucky a second time in a row. =/
I might potentially have someone willing to stud their dragon out that would have a far narrower range than the pair I’m currently using. they never responded to my last message about the nest being hosted in a different flight, so.. we’ll see.

I’m tempted to finally open all of my chests and eggs and stuff. I’ve been hoarding them for... uh.. three years, maybe? I wouldn’t open the festival chests, but I’ve got 1k+ of regular chests and probably another 1k of coliseum chests and gold bags/boxes/sacks/whatever.
Shoot, my join date was on the third of this month. That would’ve been a good day to do it.. Oh well. lol
Maybe I should just keep hoarding until like.. Christmas or something.
