*゚• 。 ⋆ . ° ━ ❝ LISTEN, dude, i’m sure you’re cool ‘n’ all, but i haven’t lived here in what ? ten years ? so you’ve GOTTA give me some more details for me to remember ya. ❞
“oh, it’s all cool – i’m kai. i don’t know if we ever met?”
“Okay you’re right, that is a good pro. Maybe find out where all the missing Bermuda triangle people went. I just hate when things like that get televised and stuff. Just makes it all seem fake regardless of what might be real. Like the long island medium? How legit could she possibly be with that hair?” he asked, not being able to stop himself from laughing. “Likewise. But you know what I think that could work. It’s a start at least.”
“Find out where Amelia Earhart crashed, find out what that whole 'Croatoan’ thing meant, find out if Tupac is still alive – y’know, all the mysteries of the world. It’s way too easy to fake that stuff on TV, I get it. Dude, no way she knows anything with that – I mean, unless a ghost told her to get that hairdo. I wouldn’t trust that ghost,” he replied, finding himself laughing, as well... for obvious reasons. “If I saw that hanging around, I’d sign it. I bet we could get a couple of signatures.”
“Yeah… I can’t even imagine. Like, I’m even skeptical of all those tv mediums. But there are definitely a few things I think I might not want to know. Ignorance is bliss and blah blah blah, right?” he let out a soft chuckle. “I’m Kai, by the way. I’d be totally up for a trip like that, I just don’t think we’d find many other people who feel the same way.”
“I mean, there’d probably be a couple of pros though... like, you could ask if Tupac is still alive. Yeah, I think a lot of the mediums – that’s, like – they’re just good at reading people, but there are also some parts of it that just seem totally... supernatural. Yeah, I’m cool with not knowing,” he replied, following his counterpart and... letting out a soft chuckle. “Kai? Nice to meet you, dude. Maybe if we put out a sign-up sheet, hung it around Brighton – think we could get some people that way?” Kai #2 asked.
“Oh, you mean the Sixth Sense? Y’know, I actually haven’t seen that movie, but I wouldn’t mind abilities like that. I think… I’d be more afraid of everything I’d learn than the ghosts themselves. They have answers to a lot of big questions. Hey, I’d be up for that though. It’d be even cooler if you invite a few people and have a proper horror movie experience.”
“Yeah, the Sixth Sense! I think it’d be pretty cool to have those abilities, y’know? I get you, man. Yeah, like... if the ghosts could be seen on our plane, is there a heaven or do you just wind up on Earth? Because the fact that they’re there would make it pretty obvious they’re not ‘at rest.’ A lotta opportunities to ask a lotta questions. Dude, that’d be sick! Could film the whole thing in infrared – y’know, just in case we do see something.”
“Seriously, she was hilarious. And that one part where she licked the gun? Dude. You’re right though, they’re probably all over the place. I just wish I was good enough at science and engineering to actually make that stuff. I’d like to visit the ghost towns regardless, though. Y’know, try to figure out why they’re ghost towns.”
“And all those sick weapons she made? Dude, she was the coolest. If I met her in real life, like... I’d probably praise her. Maybe if we just try hard enough, we can sense them... total long-shot, but it happened in that movie with that kid – the ‘I see dead people’ one. I’d totally go to those ghost towns, even if nothing, like, totally supernatural happened. It’d probably be pretty awesome just to see.”
“I kinda fell a little in love with Holtzman, honestly. But you’re right! Brighton’s got all this abandoned stuff, and Utah in general has way more. Like whole ghost towns and old mines.”
“Dude, same! She was, like, honestly one of the coolest characters I’ve ever seen... and pretty hot, too. There are probably ghosts all around us. You think if we made some gadgets we could detect them? Maybe catch ‘em? Take a trip to the ghost towns, even?”
“Y’know, I feel as if they walk into the barber all, yo, I want to look like that duck out the window, let’s do it. And the barber is like whatever, he’s paying me.” Bass laughed, his digits threading through his long hair.
Richard (was he still Richard?) began laughing in a rather subtle manner as his counterpart described how he believed the people who had those ridiculous haircuts walked into the barbershop. “Y’think they show the barber a picture of a duck’s ass and everything? Y’know, how some people show them pictures of celebrities they want their hair to look like?” It was funny, wasn’t it?
*✧·˚. ☪ ・° her brows narrow, and she taps her nails against the cardboard cup in her grip. “ i guess not. would you like to take a seat or … ? ” ac comments pulling her laptop forward so it wasn’t consuming all the table space. best to be friendly.
he continued observing her, then let out a rather silent sigh. he supposed he could sit down, be polite to the other. did he want to? probably not. would he? she invited him... it’d be... the kind thing to do. “sure,” he replied, pulling out the chair across from her as she moved her laptop. he cocked a brow, then nodded towards her laptop. “working on something?”
– “Have you ever thought…” Bass furrowed his brow as he attempted to speak clearly, “Of how some people have hairstyles that look like a duck’s ass?”
Richard cocked his head to the side, observing the other male. He furrowed his eyebrows in response, then replied, “A lot. Why the hell would anyone choose that?”
“I don’t get all the backlash over the new Ghostbusters movie. It was pretty fun, I actually liked it. Hey, what if Brighton had a ghost hunting squad? D’you think we’d ever find anything cool?”
“Me neither, it was awesome! What’s not to like? I like to think we’d find a lotta cool stuff. Brighton’s gotta have something going on.”
*✧·˚. ☪ ・° “ i’m.. sorry? ” her voice is quiet, peeking from behind her laptop with a questioning look. her fingers are tightly knit around her coffee, as if she’d been caught in the middle of a crime. ( but really, she’s just surprised. ) “ can i help you with something? ” be cool ac, this is a public coffee shop after all.
why was he here? who was he right now? the last person he talked to... their name... it was his now; their personality... it was his now. but there was someone new in front of him, and he immediately mimicked her mannerisms. putting his hand on the opposite arm in a protective manner, he responded, “uh, no... can i help you with something?”
