Hey it’s me again back with another thought. I always thought you drawing PV+SM as old men was fun mostly because in my AU all the Beasts and Ancients are teenagers. I keep imagining my (physically and mentally, not actually) 15-year-old Shadow Milk and your old guy Shadow Milk somehow meeting, maybe during Act 2 or whatever, and my Shadow Milk thinks “Ugh… this is what I’d be like if I grew up? Thank fuck my aging stopped…” and your Shadow Milk goes “Eww… this is what I would’ve been like as a kid? Thank fuck I didn’t have a childhood”

The Fount did what he had to do to survive, to adapt, to thrive. but he was forever stuck playing a role he didn't even audition for.

and as punishment for hiding His Truth, it gets taken away from him and given to someone else. who then makes it his.

and Smilk's Truth is forever lost. just a "poor sorry thing, that no longer knows what it wants"

Considering that suggestion for your new post-au are opened, I decided to share an idea I came up with during the development of my own (who knows maybe it will inspire for you smth similar):

After Shadow Milk was defeated once again, and the Ultimate Cookie's dough was successfully taken out of him, the consciousnesses and powers of other Beasts' he absorbed also had to be transferred somewhere. So, considering that making new bodies for them right away, while they were still unstable, was a bad idea — the Ancients decided to put the Beasts into sarcophagi with Artificial Reality in the Golden Cheese kingdom (smaller versions of the one Golden Cheese Cookie build her digital world in).

The Beasts (except Shadow Milk, because he needed serious medical and psychological attention) woke up in a smaller version of their Beast-Yeast homeland. Flour was alone in her Pagoda, Sugar was in the garden filled with NPCs she could tend to, and Spice was in a small palace, conveniently placed near a village full of poorly made NPCs he could crash for points like in a video game.

(As far as I remember Salt is riding unicorns alongside White Lily somewhere across the rainbow so let's skip him for now)

It was a temporary solution until the good guys were to decide what to do with that bunch — and took a bit of a breather themselves.

Welp, that's it. Who knows maybe it sparked some inspiration in you! I always fill inspired after I scroll through your artworks so I kinda wanted to gift some of that energy back :D

For me personally, I find it unlikely that the ancients, "the good guys", would stoop to dark enchantress' level of low and create new cookie bodies. I feel like they would deem it immoral.

So I've thought they would simply return the souls to their original bodies (if they're still within the tree) and the undo the sealing spell with the help of the new Light of Solidarity!

Would be a nice way to wrap up the story I think. (Milk might need to be resealed and then let out again because his body is barely sustaining itself as we speak but that's another layer of psychological torture for him that needs to be discussed at another time)

I really like the idea of them living in the virtual worlds for a little bit tho! Maybe they shouldn't enable their worst traits but hey anything to keep em occupied for a little bit.

"Incomplete once more" does have a fun ring to it! But it does make me wonder at what point was he Complete? My guy is such a soggy excuse for a Person

(this is technically from my AU, but not specific to it) hear me out: Autistic Shadow Milk AND Pure Vanilla, and they have the same/similar sensory issues, one of the consequences of this being: Shadow Milk stealing Pure Vanilla’s clothes often because he thinks they’re really comfortable :) (idea gleaned from me noticing that in all of PV’s costumes and outfits, he’s wearing very baggy clothing, specifically especially around the sleeves. I gave Shadow Milk all my sensory issues already, and one of them is tight clothing, particularly sleeves (notice how Shadow Milk’s outfit is always pretty skintight EXCEPT for the sleeves?) so I thought of this :))

Post canon my milk would get his first wardrobe purely from Vanilla's closet, which is why I'm mainly dressing him in whites

Eventually if he gets better, he could start making his own clothes again. Everything loose and baggy and soft!
